Sport Tires for my cobalt

I am in need of a set of new tires for my cobalt. I would like to get a set of sport or summer tires. I also need to get cheap ones too.

So are you asking for advice or is this a WTB thread?

Sport Tires for my cobalt

Check tire racks summer tire section. Since you have an LT you wont need anything that sticky.

what do you plan to do with the car, autox/track or just DD ?

tires can get expensive fast so you really need to decide your plans. The stickier (sportier) the tire the shorter life its going to have so you need to figure out what you want.

I plan on racing it and daily driving it. And I understand the expenses of tires. I just want to get it to go as fast as the car can without many problems.

Right now the wheels are stock aluminium wheels. I also need a set of rims because I bent one. But I plan on putting American racing rims.

I know that my car can go as fast as 115 and I've gotten it up to that speed. I also got it to hold that speed for about a 1/2 mile before slowing down

Sport Tires for my cobalt

Just get a decent set of summer tires. You dont need anything crazy. You dont have to worry about wheel spin like an lnf or lsj does. Btw 115 isnt fast. Some cobalts hit that in a quarter mile

I'm going to jump the gun here and just assume OP got some slicks so he can continue to drive at 155 for half a mile.

Damn, just remembered I'm going to need some new tires too! Doc, can u hook it up? I'm thinking about those new DWS since I only drive a LNF and not a LS (lightening speed). Plus winter is coming up...
