yup, bone stock 09 SS/TC 4 dr. Still has warranty for 75k or so, so i read gm1 is best idea. After this though, suggestions? Would like to eventually make this a AX car, though they dont have much in that scene in Alaska.thanks for any help!

 

Look up youtube videos of Venom575rwhp, I think he goes by that on youtube.... If that cant find him, look up cobalt SS/tc at Mosport raceway.

 

Don't do GMS1 if you plan on AX. It classes best in D-stock, which basically means you are limited to a rear swaybar, tires, shocks, and cat back.

i was wrong his name is Venom525rwhp. Message him on his youtube channel. He's a member here but I dont see him post that often. He autocrosses his sedan at Mosport park raceway. He might have alot of insight for you. Also listen to Wangspeed.

 

i found his videos, they were prettyimpressive. Sadly in AK there is 1-2 events per year, and udually they are hours and hours out of the way, or you physically cannot drive to them (juneau). stuck here for 2 more years, so i am going to try my best not to mod the car any more than the class will allow so that when i do get back to the lower 48 i can get back to AX regularly. 2 years is a long time not to play to much with the car though, especially with all the extra money comming in from being deployed. thanks again both of you for the help!

 

I have plenty of track vids in my sig too. Most notably of VIR Grand, which is the same course Car & Driver run their Lightning Laps on. I'm down in the 3:06 to 3:07 range right now.

 

What part of Alaska are you at? I lived in Fairbanks since 91 but live in Idaho now until Air Force sends me away.
