2008 Cobalt SS Brembo brakes - Min. 17" Wheels
 

Just a heads up to all considering upgrading to the new 2008 Cobalt SS Brembo brakes. According to the GM engineers, 17” is the smallest size wheel that will fit over these brakes.
This may be an issue for those running snow, or drag tires on 15’s or 16’s

exact reason why i am not jumping on them, they sure look cool but mine do the job and can fit the 16

That really is kind of a disappointment for those that run 16" winters too

i would never spend money on something like that and grind them down lol

How much does a "Brambo" sticker cost?

i figured my 16" winter tires and steelies wouldn't fit over those brembos. i guess i'll try to sell them and buy new ones to fit the ss/tc. my dunlops were excellent in the snow and ice and i'm definitly buying a set for next winter.

good so that means I won't spend money on this afterall

this will fit on a G5 GT they come with 17inch rims. what would i have to do to put these brakes on my G5?

Hahhaha so they do fit i would go aftermarket instead for a couple more hundred bucks more

not sure about "brambo," but i bet you can find some "brembo" ones

im gonna wait to see some 60-0 stop times in mags before i decide if im going to these.

someone probably already asked this elsewhere BUT are they able to just switch over onto a SS S/C? or is it a completely different set up?

Im sure you could switch them over, however like they said... your gunna have to run your stockers during the winter or find a 17" wheel. Also I don't believe they have released them yet to order until the end of april.

no there are some other things that are going to need to be changed from what ive seen.

The rotor and brake lines? I would assume probably a bigger master cylinder to push all that brake fluid?

Yea, I believe I heard that it's the rotor, brake line, & a bigger cylinder... I don't know what else, b/c I don't know about this kinda of stuff. I just heard it...

Don't forget that the new 08 wheels will most likely have a different offset than the 05-07 wheels.

if they say 17inch rims are the smallest that fit, does that include steelies for winter? or will steelies not fit either?
