2009 LNF sedan Brembo Brakes, Pads

Just curious what pads out there is everyone using for the brembos, and whether searching through oriellys, napa, autozone is all accurate as far as pads for the SS or not. Any help or direction is appreciated.

OEM is typically AC Delco, however with the Brembo package you'll need high end metallics or ceramic.
Some swear by R1 or Hawk Performance though. It honestly doesn't matter as long as you recognize the name brand, and it's one of the above types of pad.

I used r1 and wasn't impressed with them I replaced them after 3-4 months. It's not so much as what gm prefers but what works the best on the car for a daily and even track use

To be fair, you're old enough to witness when "ACDelco" was 2 different companies.

Another great option is a StopTech brake package. I've only ever used OE stuff for my Cobalts but decided to give their stuff a try and I've been extremely satisfied for DD purposes. I've had to get on them real hard a few times and zero issue, no warping etc.

Good luck man!

I got the Centric pads and they're more than good enough for daily driving. Also way cheaper than going OEM.

I find it best to go to somewhere like https://www.thatgmpartsguy.com/sitemap and find OEM part numbers for cross referencing. this way you know 100% you're getting the OEM part (or equivalent replacement). For brakes, I personally am going OEM as I've stretched my pads out for 40k miles and they're still going. replaced at the dealer that the PO bought it from at 82k. I'm at 126k now. The rotors are toast though and starting to make noise with the rust lip against the pad edge but they're still stopping the car and the chirpers aren't squealing yet. I have a full front OEM set with new pin kit ready to go on. just need to buy rears before I do it.

I have had poor experience with non-OE pads and rotors.

My opinion, for what it's worth - use OEM.

Not cheap, but the best.
