Best Coil-Overs w/ price in mind for 09 SS/TC

Was thinking of performance modding my DD but realized why up the power to beyond 300hp for couple thousand dollars when I can just make it look better and have it still go fast stock so I am probably going to scrap my other plan and just go for visuals and then maybe performance down the road... But Coil-Overs are so damn expensive but regardless what's the best bang for my buck?

Thanks

basically the best handling coilovers you'll get is KW V2's and they're decently expensive. I'd say if you're looking to get better handling and a bit lower.. do Tune, dp, upper charge pipe. then Pedders and a PRS hardcore rear bar that will al run you about 2k total and you'll have a car thats 300+ whp and wtrq that will handle very well and be a little lower

OOOOR you could throw Pedders on the LNF shocks it'll be cheaper than coilovers.

I have hook ups on brand new kw v2. 1700 shipped PM for details.

I have CM springs and they work great. Might switch over to kw though, depends how much money I have after insurance payments and theZFR if that ever comes out..

Downpipe: $200 shipped Tune: $300-500
300whp in $700 or less.

But for performance that is cheap and a little lower than stock. Pedders is win. I personally run pedders w/ koni shocks and a 1" rear sway bar. Car has a sick nasty stance and handles like its on rails.

all the coilovers except kw variant 2s are good for nothing except getting low. h&r springs are the same way. they look great but theres no performance gains when you add them to fe5 struts. pedders and koni strut combo or fe5 combo(rear struts are back ordered i hear) are going to be the cheapest bang for the buck and get you the best ride/handling. if you think 1k coilovers are expensive......you would hate to see what really good coilovers cost.

so the best route is just stock struts w/ some springs ? and you recommend H&R over peddlers or vise versa?

Depends on what you want.. strickly performance and a slight drop, get pedders... want a good drop and still have some performance ..I'd go with h&rs.. I still hug on ramps without any issue on my h&rs.. ride isn't bad at all, rides like a lowered car should and they look great

personally i think fe5 struts dont have the dampening for h&rs. ive had them on my car and it handled like crap.

if your looking for a comfortable ride, decent handling and a decent drop and you have fe5 struts(lnf cobalt) get pedders. you will be happy.

lol i know every thread is like this starting to get sickening.

but like stated the better coilovers are going to run you about 2k at the end of the day. Any of the systems under that are pretty much on the same level, some get lower than others, so i would search the forum for a set of used ones. I got megan racing ones brand new for 750 shipped, some people don't like them but i love them so far.

because the problem is everyones crying about how much coilovers cost or how the ride sucks. i nevercheapo coilovers are. so i recommended a different option that will yield less complaining, less maitence, and offer a better handling and ride comfort option. if i recommended which coilovers to get and how much they cost the op would have been like wtf.

this.. most people dont want to spend for good coilovers.. not to mention he said it's expensive to get over 300 whp.. when in all reality it's only about 500 worth of mods so he could have both of what he wants for a "decent" price..

you guys are lucky though you have options in mediocre coilovers .. us ions have B&G's or KW's

Coming into this I was thinking of getting coils and that's it but people are saying that just getting springs will benefit me just as much and save me a lot of money so thanks! So pedders it is then! and really only a DP & a tune will get me 300whp? i was planning on replacing my whole exhaust w/ intake upper charge & a tune and thinking that'd get me just 300whp.

EDIT: What about eibach Sportline?

catback is pretty pointless, intake you need to get before getting a tune. but not necessary, good filter and the airbox mod that zzp outlined on here is almost just as good. upper charger pipe I would recommend because people have issues sometime with stock charge pipes splitting. But it's not a necessity to do before the tune.

An excellent choice. My car just has the Pedder springs. The stance looks great, handles like it's on rails, and the ride seems even more comfortable than stock.

I really couldn't recommend them more.
