Bluetooth
Works like total ass with my iPhone. After about 60-120 seconds of calling, the other end always complains about static. I didn't have any other phone to test with to see if it was just the iPhone causing it.
I ended up disabling the whole onstar system, which kills the BT anyway.

It works great with my phone(Sprint Touch). No static. It's nice not needing to have a headset and then reaching to answer the phone, when all you need to do is hit a button on the steering wheel.
What kind of USB flash drives are you using? I am trying to buy one that is compact and fits the lines on the interior. I had an orange 2GB that was small, but looked totally out of place with the silver receiver/trim. I have an OCZ Rally2 4GB that is smoking fast, but it's kind of long. I am fearful of accidentally hitting the extended flash drive and breaking something.
I wish GM put the USB port in a hidden spot, like a center console (oh wait, we don't have one) or the driver's glove box. This also helps hide the USB drive in case someone wants to steal it.

You could buy a USB extension cable, but the USB disk I use is a Lexar Firefly (4gb). I didnt buy it for the cobalt or anything, but at the time I bought it I wanted the smallest made.

Its good to hear other phones work with the BT, the iPhone is notriously a pile of **** when it comes to BT at times. Esp the older ones like mine. Love my phone otherwise though, so it aint going anywhere.

My Bluetooth works great (Samsung D807x) UNLESS I leave the phone too close to the center stack, in which case I get some static. If I leave the phone in my pocket closest to the driver's side door, no issues.
I don't have a cellphone so maybe it is a dumb question, but how do you use Bluetooth with a cell phone? I can understand the Personal Area Network (PAN) benefits to Bluetooth for computer mice, headsets, and other networked devices. But what's the purpose of the in-car BT and your cellphone? Do you make calls via the car ala Microsoft SYNC on the Fords?
I bet if a guy wanted to get real slick, you could remove the headunit and solder wires from a USB extension to the board and tuck it away in the glove box. I've done that kinda stuff before to hide Xbox's and the like.

I've got a Verizon Dare and it works great.
As a general rule, anything that works off of CDMA (such as Verizon or Sprint for instance) shouldn't interfere with it. TDMA, Edge, and others may have some interference for the same reason that it makes speakers near them make wierd noises. As unusual as it may sound, try moving the iPhone further away from the microphone, radio, and/or bluetooth receiver (though I'm not sure where that is). I bet you'll have better luck. Radio waves dissipate with distance. Maybe put it in that square console hole infront of the back cupholders or something and see if it works better.

I guess I am not the type that worries how my USB thumb drive matches the car.... But, I will agree with you on a hidden port... Anyone else rail the end of their flash drive that is sticking out when going to adjust the climate controls. I am always freaking out thinking I bent my flash drive is gunna be bent.

I really do wish it was somewhere else. I would love to a hard drive in the glove box that had all my music.
Any way we could try re-routing the plug that comes out of the face of the radio elsewhere? Then you could plug it in somewhere else and just put the rubber plug in the stock hole and nobody would no any different.
yea get an extension cable, pry open your deck. solder it on to the proper pins...
My iPhone is an older unit (original 8gb) and only has Edge. I guess that kinda answers why I have the static
I've tried putting the phone everywhere, but no luck.

My LG Dare works awesome, I have crystal clear sound on both ends. Sometimes when I'm working on my car with the radio on, the bluetooth will connect even when my phone is in the house like 30 feet away. All of a sudden the radio will start ringing..... works great.
They may have V07 out by now, not sure though. Some of the fixes to V06 included a bluetooth fix, so you may be able to get even more improvement out of it now. Just go over to the Verizon store to get the update. It'll take like 30 mins or so. Don't know why they haven't activated the over-the-air software updates yet though.
