Bolt on LNF vs 2012 5.0
How would a bolted and trifecta tuned LNF run with a bone stock 5.0? I ran one last night with my cam only LS1 (384 rwhp) and put 2 cars on it from 40 to 80ish and the faster I got the harder I started to walk. I really think my Balt could give one a run. What do you guys think?

stock new 5.0 yes , if it has no mods or tune or is a automatic stock. its still a toss up tho, GL they are not to bad in the 40 rolls. But with grip and boost you should murder it with your mods.

The new 5.0's are slow. I lose to everything on the street.
Yes, a tuned lnf can beat a stock 5.0 from a roll. I've seen some 5.0's trap as low as 107mph and some as high as 113mph depending on the dragstrip.

A bone stock 2011 went 12.2@117 on our local track here. Might actually hold the record. Wouldn't really call it a slouch, but maybe that's cause people over here know how to actually drive.
Take that back, went 12.29@115.41

my only real "race" with one, was at the track(my first time!! )
1st time drivin at the track ever
pretty shitty tires
very little experience launching
his car still had the temp tags on it
he took off when the light turned green, but after i stopped spinnin I caught up to him way before the finish line

a stock 6 speed puts down 375-385whp and 350-360wtq, and they weigh like 3600-3700lbs.
how are they slow?..lol
anyways, there are some videos around already(Dart-si) for sure has some..watch them.

While that's some good driving i'd be willing to bet it's not stock. The MPH is way too high for a stocker. Ive seen stock 5.0's run 113mph in Cecil County Dragway's mineshaft november/december air...it doesn't get any better than Cecil's fall weather. We're talking 1000- below sea level conditions.

i posted those videos because the cobalt got beat in all of them. i like my car, but i would have a powder blue 5.0 over it anytime..
i saw 11.9 on drag radials, intake and exhaust at my local track by 2 different guys. those cars are not slow...
But, the 3:31 geared ones are much slower, especially in an auto. Gotta get the sport/brembo pack with the 3:73 gears and 6 speed to kick ass..

The auto's got 3.15 gears and are faster than the manuals 90% of the time. After a few bolt-on's the autos start to pull away from the manual even better. It takes a sticky tire high rpm launch/perfect run to outrun the 6a trans. My brothers 100% bone stock auto car went a 12.51 at 113.7. After a tune, off road h-pipe, catback, weld rt-s rims, and air filter it clicked off an 11.7 at 119mph.
My car is a 3.31 6m with an x-pipe, catback, air filter, and tune. I just managed a 12.3 at 117mph this past saturday.

We know there's always out of the norm kinda like u and i. But for the most part I see bone stock ones going low 13s with only a 105-107 trap. Only a little better than the SS camaros. I ran one with intake exhaust tune and radials and still beat him. Left him at the tree as well
