Bypass valve mechanical
Bypass valve mechanical
So this question has probably been asked a lot and I couldn't seem to find anything on it so here goes...
I have the forge bpv for my 09 ss and it's throwing a code because the sensor is reading it going to the atmosphere.
Not sure how to fix it, only need to drop the code for emissions.
Someone suggested deleting the code right before emissions and just not using any boost until after I pass emissions and the code should stay off.
Does anyone know of a better solution to this, maybe a permanent one to drop this code.
Can't remember the code off the top of my head.

Yar as everyone said.
BPV works great. If all you want is the sound, the forge bpv does wonderful.
THe atmosphere stuff is **** until you relocate and tune for it. This is well documented and if you care about the car, either get the bpv or fix the car for bov.

Yup thats what i was getting at by asking my questions if its the atmospheric forge bpv then yeah you need to relocate the maf to the lower chargepipe and get tuned
Well here's the deal I've been in contact with my tuner can't get it done for a few weeks but I also have a cat code but that's just because I'm running no cats. Now he can delete both those codes with the tune but my friend told me you can't pass emissions if 2 codes are deleted one will still pop up when they scan it at the emissions testing. Could you explain how this relocating goes? I don't know a whole lot about the bpv, was on when I had bought the car.

But if you want to relocate the maf you will need a zzp lower charge pipe if you dont have it, the relocate harness like 30 bucks i think, and a block off plate to block the port in the intake ( should come with the charge pipe). If not what northvibe said is correct and im running that same set up with a forge bpv recirculate
That all depends. If the code is unrelated to the unmetered air, then yes that code will still happen. If the code was caused by venting then it would correct that. It vents the extra to the intake pipe as it was already read by the ecu. I don't think you listed your cel in the thread...unless I missed it. But it is common to throw a code venting to atmosphere without the proper setup.
