Cobalt SS on TV?????

How come they dont have a comercial showing how well this car is. The car is extremely fast and corners like a vette, so how come not advertise it and make profits from it. I could be wrong but the last Cobalt SS comercial i remember was the old one with the vette both were red and a ball or something like that.
Maybie we can get some publicity about the car idunno im still looking to buy and waiting to see the Camaro SS before i decide but man everytime i get on here it makes me want one, more and more everyday. It does 0-60 in 5.5 .92g and gets 22-30mpg were can you find a car that does that for less than $25,000 i mean come on GM boost your sells advertise. Right?

New tuner cars only cater to a niche market.

I wouldnt really consider a car that can out run V8's to be a turner can, besides GM needs the sells. Everyone stepping over the dealers not even knowing this car exsist. Everyone i talk to doesnt even know GM built it.
I would take the Cobalt SS over the EVO or WRX anyday of the week and at 5-$7000 less

GM's bread an butter ( not for to long) is still Large Trucks and SUVs. Regardless of 4$ gas, people who drive 60,000$ Tahoes and Yukons can afford the gas, so its not a huge purchasing factor. Even today, if you have the means to buy an Escalade or Tahoe/Suburban, gasoline prices are probably not going to be a make or break factor in your purchasing descision.

The Cobalt SS is not a popular ride overall. They didn't even make a TON of them, considering its based on and is an Econo car.

This is why we don't see any advertisements, hell I didn't even see **** about the SSs in the 2008 Cobalt Dealers Brochure.

Sure, the CobaltSS is popular on cobaltss.net and among the tuner niche, but its still a small niche. Only tuners/motorheads are buying these. My mom is not going out to get a Cobalt SS... Cobalt.. Maybe for the gas millage, but not an SS.

I have a bachelors degree in marketing plus I stayed at a Best Western last night!

The SS cannot be produced or demanded in such large quantitys

Hence the reason the SRT4 was never advertised

Yes, that was at launch, there were big ad dollars in play to create awareness for the Cobalt. That campaign did its job.

It's all pretty standard fair...

I could write a book on this, but I'm not going to.

There were only a handful of Cobalt SS commercials that I can think of. Which I suppose is better than Dodge and Honda. I don't think they had commercials for the SRT4 or the Si... I could be wrong though...

They probably did, but very limited budget.

Ford did one for the SVT Focus...

You can get away with showing ads for niche/halo cars like the Camaro and Challenger because even the guy driving a Cobalt XFE or the mom driving a Suburban can get a good feeling from those cars simply by brand association.

The Cobalt SS...not so much. I love this car and all, but in many ways it still is the red-headed bastard stepchild of GM performance.

Don't forget the 2008 SS was really a 2008˝ model, they didn't even announce it until they were a few months into production of the 2008 model year...

So we are going to start blaming the president for lack of advertising of certain car models?

That makes a lot of sense...

Sorry didnt mean it that way i meant most tuner cars are like Standard Hondas, Standard yota's, Standard ect.... the Cobalt SS was built with a vengence and can hang above some musle cars, so in general its a exotic car really. Can you say pushing the mountain roads passing people lol

So for 30+ years the liberals strangle business with red tape and taxes, stop construction of nuclear plants and oil refineries and prohibit tapping our domestic oil reserves leaving us to import 75% of the oil we consume and it is all G.W.'s fault... Makes sense to me... I'd call you an idiot but that would be an insult to idiots everywhere...

No...YOU can't get one until Feb 2009.

Nevertheless - it was driving down Hwy 130 - and if it were any closer to me I would have been trading paint with it.

it goes into production in feb. thats not when it's available. they have lots of camaro's on the road for R&D, durability testing the whole nine yards.

imo the camaro is the least retro out of the 3, mustang challenger and camaro. thus looks nicer, also the interior spanks on both of them. the car is just pure sex.
