coolan temps from 205 to 210

i was driving my car this evening and its like 45 degrees here and i was gettin some grub and while sitting in the drive thru my car went to 205degrees and then went up to 210 degrees.

am i just freakin out over nothing? as soon as i left and got on the highway they dropped right off to 196 degrees.

well in the summer time 101 degrees,humid as hell and ac cranked,the car wouldnt get about 200 degrees. ive just never saw it get that high so i was just wondering.

mine would reach 220 consistently but then the i got tuned and had the fans set to 100% at 200*

I think its normal during stand stills cause coolant is really being pumped and flushed. If you try revving it a little while ur in stand still the temps shoudl drop by 10 degrees or so.

Normal. When you have the A/C on, the cooling fans are always running when you're sitting still. That keeps your coolant temps below 200.

No A/C means no cooling fans to about 215 - 220.

Ya mine rises the most when its slightly chilly out and I'm in stop and go side streets around town. Sometimes when I turn the car off the fan will be running. Never does it when it's warm out though. I assume OP is normal as is mine.

An understandable question. Generally, if your engine is overheating the Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light will come on (there’s a diagram in your owner’s manual on p. 3-32). Also, idling may cause a vehicle’s temperature to rise.
