Just would like to know how many people have had this issue with their cobalt. What millage were you at? What year is your car? Did you have problems with the dealership?

2009 SS Sedan turbo. 36,000km, build date 10/08. porous block discovered after multiple low coolant alarms over a week or so. coolant was only down a tiny bit. kept an eye on it. it finally overheated on my way home from work one day. i popped the hood, resevoir was empty, no sprays or leaks, visable. oil on stick looked odd. oil fill cap had alot of moisture on it.
dealer paid for flatbed, gm inspected engine, did pressure tests, sent oil away to GM for analysis. within 3 days they said i needed a new engine. they paid for the rental for 8 days and had a new gm short block installed in a week.
no fighting or disagreements with them.

Took it in, dealer worked on it for a 2 weeks, then searched this forum, claimed to have "Found me" on the forums with a list of mods and refused to look at it anymore, voided my warranty. I told them from day one i believe i have the porous block issue which they denied even existed. Fought tooth and nail with them and GM customer service which is a completely useless as no matter what i told them, they sided with the dealer who claimed my car was modded when it was sitting in there lot 100% stock. A nice member on the forums, helped me battle the dealer, got my district rep involved who made them tear the block apart and..VOILA porous block problem. They replaced it 99 days later. I just took my keys as they were trying to talk to me and left. Never will go back there again and will tell everyone how terrible they are.
EDIT: Lets make an offical thread and keep the chatter out so we can get an aprox. build date for this.
