Also depends on the tire life you want. You could always go with a PS4 or PSS that's a 300 treadwear and get a longer life especially on a light car. Still has great grip and will handle rain well.
Friend has cheap Nankang NS2R r compounds and they're pretty good for the price.

The RE-71Rs are still 200tw so they should be legal for any class.
If you plan on doing autocross often I would stay away from Michelin PSS. They are a good tire but they aren't the toughest. I personally had PSS and lost a chunk of rubber out of my tire down to the cords. I have also talked to other people who have had the same thing happen. Additionally the tires are not symmetrically constructed about the center-line. The inside and outside of the tire have different tread compounds so you cannot flip the tire on the wheel to get more life out of them. The outside edge of the tire will wear more during autocross from hard cornering so it's nice to be able to flip the tire on the wheel about halfway through the season to wear out the other edge of the tire which isn't possible with PSS.
Now if you just did autocross now and then and wanted a great street tire that also performs well in the rain the PSS is a great tire. I'm just guessing you won't be doing a lot of road tripping or driving in the rain with the goblin though that is up to you.

It took me 2 days to strip the car, about a week to do all the harness work (week days after work) and then when the parts showed up it took me 40 hours to put it all together. now this was done at breakneck speed trying to get it done before school started up for my son. most builds take about 3 months on average it seems.

first auto cross on crap stock tires (couldn't get race tires in time) spun everywhere but had fun and car survived.

ok, so I finally decided on a wheel and tire combo.
wheels - https://www.performanceplustire.com...rim/bp:boltpattern-5x114-3f:-12-0:ws:15x10/
tires - https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...935ZR5A7&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=y es
Traction should not be a problem anymore. total cost just under $2000, not too bad! OH, I did have to get adapter/spacers to change the lug pattern. I went to 5x114.3

I am looking for a tuner for the goblin, do we have any good tuners on the forums? Donor was a 2008 SS TC and I have HP tuners, I just have never tuned the LNF before and my intake/exhaust is all custom. I am just looking for a basic stage 1 type of tune right now, stock injectors and all.
