Finally got my parts for the P0234 code. Anyone know how to install them?

Original thread.

I've had the P0234 code for a couple months. Car drove fine for a few miles and then go limp mode, only hitting 4.7-5 psi. Now it only hits 4.7 psi. I can't even remember what boost felt like anymore.

I finally got the harness through GM Parts Direct; there was an issue at the Post Office. Long story; doesn't matter; got the part now. I've had the wastegate solenoid for a couple weeks, though. Thanks again for the recommendations in the other thread, ECaulk and blueLNFftw.

Now I'm trying to figure out if anyone has an idea of how to install these parts. More specifically, the harness. I was told it's plug & play, but I am not mechanically inclined, so I worry I'll break something. I haven't taken anything apart under the hood yet. I just don't want to risk ruining something and having to go to a mechanic anyway.

The mechanics want a bit more than I was anticipating, so I'm hoping they're my last resort. I want to try it myself and if I can't do it based off one of you guys' expertise, I'll just go pay an arm & leg at the mechanic's.

Anyone have an idea of how to go about installing the parts? There isn't a How-To for me to go through, unfortunately.

I'm going from memory, but its a bolt that holds it to the turbo and a clip for the plug. For removing the vacuum lines twist them on the nipple first then remove from the nipple.

Probably the easiest to come from the passenger side with the intake removed

The bpv solenoid should have the correct connector since BW used the GM connection and you don't have to wire in the plug

Okay. I'll try this out tomorrow morning after work. If I can't do it, I'll take her to the mechanic.

So if I'm understanding correctly, you're saying to just swap the stock wastegate with the BW wastegate, but don't worry about the harness in the pic I linked to above?

Exactly, they should be a direct swap. The harness was included for those that use a stand-alone or if they don't have the GM plug

Okay. I'm going to attempt this today. If worst comes to worse, I'll take it to a mechanic.

Thanks for your help, ECaulk. I'll update later.

P.S: messed up the code in this thread title. It's actually P0243, not P0234.

Fixed the issue.
Replaced the wastegate solenoid with the BorgWarner one and replaced the harness with GM Parts Direct's harness (I think the part # is 19119500).

I didn't do it myself because I got nervous about the electrical connection. My mechanic did it and the car is hitting boost again for the first time in a while. I almost forgot how it sounded hitting boost! So awesome. I'll update the other thread in case anyone searches for the P0243 code and comes across that one.

Note the car might not be in limp mode beccause of recently cleared codes. Drive it for awhile though.
