Have our cars ever been featured in performance magazines?

At Barnes and Noble the other day I saw the magazine section and came across about 50 different car magazines. Curious to see if they had anything about our SS/TC's in something other then the usual reviews for Motor Trend, Car and Driver, etc., I checked some of the performance magazines which might have some mention of our cars. I looked at Sport Compact, 0-60, Chevy High Performance, Turbo, and a bunch of other magazines I cant remember the names of which had articles and topics which our cars would clearly fall into.

In every one of these performance mags, even ones that focus on low cost turbo cars, not a single mention or reference to our cars was made. This seemed especially unusual because one of them had an article on the best handling turbo cars under 30 grand and ours which is currently the best handling FWD car available, was completly absent.

GTI's, Civic Si's, WRX's and even Ford Focus's and SRT-4's were mentioned but not ours. Now many of these are cars fall FAR short of ours in terms of performance and in many cases are more expensive. This had me quite perplexed. I could find no evidence that our cars are even on the radar for some of these publications.

So what gives? Why no mention of our cars anywhere in these performance mags? Can somebody explain this one to me?

perhaps the magazine was talking about the focus and nsrt-4 when it was new (ie the magazines u read were old) so the SS/TC hadnt even been made yet.

Pick up a Road & Track or car and driver. those mags always have crazy reviews on cobalts. it was rated #1 performance car for a budget(up against cars like the mini-cooper S, BMW 135, honda s2000, Lotus Exige and many others i cant remember right now)

If you look toward the back of this months and last months car and driver it has 5 best track cars, granted it was in last place look at the competition

1. Lotus Exige
2. Nissan GT-R <-ROFL, lost to a $40,000 lotus
3. Ferrari 430
4. Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR
5. CHEVY COBALT SS

besides that i've seen over 10 articles rating cobalts and all of them have nothing but amazing things to say about the car.

Car and Driver and Road and Track always says, "yeah it's fast but still a cobalt.".

It's just their way of not wanting to give credit. As far as modifying mags, not just a huge aftermarket support for our cars compared to imports. And, it has to be pretty nasty to get featured, which means just about always 400-500+ hp with sick 1/4 times. Not to mention, they usually only feature cars with more rice than performance.

That was in HCI Magazine. It got killed recently also. The Cobalt they did the upgrade too was the Cobalt I was selling on here earlier and the one that can be found touring with the Tjin Edition Tour this year. www.TjinEditionTour.com for dates.

I saw a black SS s/c in a collection of pictures from a show in an issue of something once when they first came out.. Aside from that, GM High-Tech did a Hahn turbo kit build on a 2.4 sedan..

Why the hell do Motor Trend all all of those magazines always use the sedan t/c..?????? lol

WTF is a Tjin Edition..?? lol

Neil Tjin is a famous car builder and former editor in chief of HCI Magazine and has his own tour called the Tjin Edition Tour where he showcases "Tjin Edition" vehicles he has built like the Pontiac Solstice, Pontiac G8, Chevy Cobalt, Nissan Skyline and others he has built.
