How much weight do you save, please let me know. When I removed my back seats and spare for my gti, it was about ~150 lbs. This should be prob around 50-70lbs from the looks of it, i wanna know if it is worth it

I hate to be that guy, but I have to ask how you removed the rear seat? I looked at this during the afternoon while doing my oil change and could not figure it out. I read everywhere that both portions of the seat are just clipped on and that there are 2 tabs to press while pulling on the seat. Anyone has a picture of those tabs? Can't find any.
I drive a 2009 SS/TC, so the rear seat does not fold. I need to remove the seat to get more cargo space and carry long objects. Thanks in advance.

Removing the backseats is stupid easy.
First fold the tops. then take a flat head to the silver part of the latch thats on the outside of the car and gently push it in (shouldnt take any real effort) pull the seat towards you then slide it out.
For the bottom part of the seat put your hands on the far side of the cushion (against the trim) and then the other close to the center of the seat and pull up. It should pop up. Now just pull up the back corner of the rear seat (untuck it from the trim panel) Do the same for the other side and it will pop out.
Honestly for a street driven cars theres not enough weight difference to justify the seat removal. Id be surprised if the rear seats combined got near 50lbs....
