Question Helppppp!

I keep throwing a P2261 CEL and thats the only one. IDK whats causing it, i regreased my forge valve and that didnt help. I checked the vacuum tank and it seems ok Ive read that service bulletin 100 times but ive never read about anyone actually replacing the vacuum tank, they just quit responding to there threads on how they fixed it. Its getting annoying and only pops up every 2-3 weeks.

There is a check valve in the vacuum tank that can go bad. Mine went bad and bypass valve wasn't opening causing compressor flutter. Solved the problem by installing a vacuum advance check valve on line from im.

Just took apart my forge BPV and the oring/gasket is broke. Think that could be the problem?

Re-install your stock BPV until you get a new o-ring, then you'll have your answer.

Depends which spring you were using, but probably not. Assuming you used the spring that comes in it. Green, I think? Let me go check.

edit yellow one is sitting on my bench in a bag, so the green one must be the one that comes in it. If you're on Green it shouldn't change your tune.

Here's the thing the CEL appeared about a week before I got my tune (Using green spring) got my tune installed put the yellow spring in about 2 weeks later CEL comes on again. So I pulled the forge apart regreased it all was good for another 2 weeks now CEL is back. So i take it out today to put the green spring back in and I read about how to test the forge, performed the test with the yellow spring in it worked like its suppose to, so I put the green spring in and tested it. I used the method of pushing the piston in with my finger then covering the nipple with my finger and it failed with the green spring then I did the test with the yellow spring again and the piston stayed and when I uncovered the nipple it repleased like it is suppose to. Then I noticed a O ring was broke.

So Forge BPV test failed with green spring and passed with yellow spring in. Found it had a broken oring/gasket.

I'm not a believer in the Forge BPV. It seems like more maintenance, not less. I'm not into putting on parts unless they net me some kind of benefit.

The benefit of no diaphragm to go bad. I don't have an issue servicing my forge once a year. After owning a B model Cat as many years as I did just the mention of the word diaphragm makes my entire body shiver. #%$@%$# transfer pump diaphragms would not make it through the winter and would tear at the worst times in the worst places. !@#$ that!

yes, I know, the LNF doesn't have the same history as the B Model JWAC, but still!
