How are the high mileage SS/TC's holding up
#76
I guess it depends on the actual issue. I've had at least 2 and i haven't really looked at it yet (3rd time).
The 1st it was slightly misaligned probably from the factory but I use sunroof when its nice so i didnt notice until it got cold and I left it closed. It would whistle and 1 side was a tiny bit higher. Dealer adjusted it under warranty so I'm not sure exactly what they adjusted.
I guess it was about a yr later it started rattling over bumps. You could hold the glass up and the rattled stopped. Turns out 2 of the 6 torx bolts that hold the glass to the slides were loose. I assume this is what the dealer had adjusted. Anyways I retightened them but now it was crooked. So i loosened them all. Stood outside the car so I could see if it was level then retightened them. It would be easier with a 2nd person but I was impatient lol. Make sure it opens and closes smoothly after you adjust.
I haven't looked yet but its rattling again.

49k miles. Im on my 3rd transmission, 2nd engine, rear calipers replaced due to the e-brake issue, evap purge solenoid twice, 3rd intercooler (2nd stocker was fine, but replaced it with the hahn).
And of course the usual maintenance stuff.. Rear brake pads 3 times, rear calipers twice, front pads once, oil changes.. three sets of tires (including the stocks that wore very quickly. Replaced them at 12k miles.)
Other than that its been a great car. One hole already rubbed in the drivers side bolster (the back one, not the seat one). But I can excuse that, Im a really really big guy in a small car.

WOW to this guy ^
51,000 miles.
Original front brake pads with lots of life to go however the rotors are warped
Orginal engine, trans, intercooler.
rear pads were replace once at 14,0000 under warrenty and again 10,000 miles ago due to a rattle.
The door panel and crank seal was replaced due to leak around 35,000 miles.
I broke a shifter cable around 8,000 miles so I could shift agressively
The main wear item is tires!

I made it to 26000 miles in my 2009 SS/TC and my problems are, bluetooth buzzing; passenger window goes up super slow, Rear brakes are dragging, there's nothing I can do about that apparently according to dealership. I think cam phasers might be going out, it does that flutter/paddling noise at start up here and there, especially after rain.
That's it so far.

my passenger window goes up slower then my driver, i just assume its because it sat on the lot for so long, my drivers side window used to be slow to but as i use it it gets better. and my car makes that werid startup sound aswell

I think I'm gonna take my car in for the Dragging Brakes and this noise. Hopefully I won't have to pay.
Having my wastegate completely closed and a K04+ on stock tune, hopefully that doesn't cause too much concern when I bring it in haha. Not to mention all the other crap on my car

My car makes that noise so sporadically..... that I haven't really done anything about it . Its done it since new ..... and its continues ...(car has 48K on it) but it only happens once every 6 months or so.
