I need a light in my glovebox!

All lnf owners... Doesn't anyone else get annoyed by the fact that gm did not put any lights in our cars?!? if it wasn't for the map lights in the mirror, which arent even on the actual car they are on the generic onstar mirror which is used in a lot of gm cars, then we wld not have one light on the interior of the car. I already put in the dome light that "NCC-2000" did a write up on but i would still like to have a light in the glove box. Honestly, i dont think i've ever seen a car in my life without a light in the glove box, this isn't the early 1900s where it will cost an arm and a leg to put some lights up. It wld have prob cost gm pennies to put a simple light in the glove box. That's just pure laziness. ANYWAY... has anyone found an easy way to put in a light that will turn on and off with the opening of the compartment. I was guna just rig up a simple light and switch that i can throw whenever but id much rather have something that looks stock and operates the way it shld. Any complaints, suggestions, or random rants on the subject are welcome.

don't know the solution, i'd go with the guy above me.

yea it does suck how all we have is little map lights that face the windshield and thats it. no courtesy door lights, no dome light, no nothing!

actually, (just a thought) investigate how your trunk light turns on, and maybe u could buy a similar mechanism to that and fanangle it in!

someone on here did a write up of how to put one in. its not that hard really. just get a light and wire it up to constant and a switch/button that is activated when the glove box opens.

shouldnt of bought a car with a sunroof. open it when the moon is out and there u go. i personally could care less about a light i never open my glove box. but on a cobalt i can see why they left it out

u got any pics of how u got it set up?? i was thinkin about doing this but i figured that most glove box switches were actually built into the glove box latch and that i wldnt be able to use them... was the one u used just a regualar push button type switch?? cus thats exactly wat ive been lookign for.

any chance u have a link to that write up? i havent been able to find anything. im guna just rig up a regular switch if i have to, but right now im looking to see if i can find anything like the dome light write up where u can buy the gm parts and have it look completely stock.

also IMO sunroof>>dome light any day haha but obviously both is even better. the glove box is def more annoying then no dome light to me tho. im always going in there for my phone charger, ezpass, parking hang tags, gum. haha i actually use to keep a lil flash light in there, thats how bad it was. haha at least with the dome light now there is a lil light but an automatic light inside the compartment wld be sooo much better.

Just go to a salvage yard and look at glove boxes.
