So has anyone else tried their STS?
I'm not sure if this will hurt or help me. That is did you guys say it relocates the the longitudinal connector? My problem was once already I have cracked the bushing that connects the shifter to the forward and backward connector of the shift linkage. So i'm wondering if this might help me?
Any suggestions?

So I was looking at the stock shifter and would thier short shifter make that much of a difference in the throws. I mean you almost just relocating that shift linkage to teh bottom instead of connecting on the side. It seems as if it would have the same throm forward and back

Trust me...theres a difference...Ive had both the B&M and now the Hurst, and I've tried out the TWM in a buddys car. All the STS's for the Cobalt/Redline make a diff.

that pice just takes away the notch to the side which makes the shift so big and moves it directly down( ust like every othere aftermarket sts out there) relocation of that ball makes a pritty big diffrence... the stock and aftermarket shifters can be the same height but when u move that ball thats where u get the diffrence.

Most have never felt the difference and therefore have no idea. I have never felt the difference. I am sure it should feel more solid but that feeling is hard to qualify to someone who have never felt the difference themselves.

Yeah. Honestly I was skeptical at first, like others im sure. But it truly feels better and shorter. Like others have said it pretty much just makes it like every other aftermarket STS by relocating the linkage to directly underneath and orientating it upwards. But I would defiantly say its worth it for one whos in the market for a STS. I mean the only downside is no weighted shift knob like TWM.

The Saab STS is ok if you don't mind the stock, dorky shift knob. Plus I don't think I want to be cutting up my stock shifter. You know. Just in case. The TWM shifter with the bushings and new weighted stainless knob IS pricey but, in MY opinion, worth every penny. It looks good, feels good and does the job SOOO much better than stock. A LOT of us got in on their GB a while ago.
