Interesting video on youtube

Here's a video on youtube comparing the 2009 SS/TC to a MS3 on the track. Not the most informative video, and the host is kind of a douchebag, but interesting anyways. He seemed really surprised by how much he liked the Cobalt.

yeah, like an 8.22 around the ring, "is among the fastest" fwd times

UMMM I believe it set the record for a PRODUCTION fwd car around the ring. Not a stripped out FWD car that set the record.

And he is suprised the balt can take a corner

gime a break! this guy is a tool!

not even a helmet?

and the ss/tc killed the MS3 in the 2008 LL for car and driver by 3 seconds!

"how are the brakes?"

UMM......

they are HUGE brembos

The Cobalt ran on a partially wet track. It would be nice to see GM out again with the car.

IN any case, I'd like to learn a little more about this ugly little Renault.

terrible vid. Didn't mention brembos or launch control/NLS. MS3 has 280 ft. lbs torque not HP. Showed SS driving when he was in the ms3 (i think it was the second time they showed that particular clip too)

And the FWD drifting part makes me wonder if they didn't supply a cobalt with LSD.

its not really a production car persay. its stripped and gutted and theyre only making 450 of them in the uk. oh, and its 39.7k starting out. so its a **** ton more expensive. the tc is still the fastest fwd in america.

It is a production car, period. Many cars have a much much lower production number and still be consider as a production car. Yes it is way more expensive and it used the factory option tires to achieve the time, but that doesn't mean the record is not legit.

However, just like you said, TC is the fastest production FWD at Nurburgring sold in America.

I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT I NOTICED IN THE VIDEO (IT SEEMS TO ME) THAT I REMEMBER THE SS/TC DOING THE RING FROM A DEAD STOP AND THAT R26R WAS ****** SMOKING BY THE START LINE...YOU CAN EVEN SEE WHEN THE CLOCK STARTS AS HE PASSES IT. AND CONSIDERING THAT THE COBALT DID 8:22 ON A WET TRACK FROM A DIG AND IT'S A TRUE MASS PRODUCTION CAR IN TRUE STOCK FORM........ I CALL BS ON THAT RUN AS A NEW RECORD FROM THE R26R. IMO :p
