excellent. now I am gonna continue the crusade for every one to buy the cheap borescopes so we can check and see how those little valve stems are doing all clean like and all !

PS I prefer undoing the 4 TB bolts and leaving it in place, and not screwing with the connector or the inlet tube. Normally they burp and run. My job this weekend took a little time to get woken up on restart. Engine must have thought "where is all this inlet air coming from?".

After taking the brake booster vacuum line off, remove the nipple off of the manifold and then go in through there.

Ok, I'm a newbie here, but is this an issue for a lot of cobalts? What is the cause of this? I might have to take a look at mine in the spring, I have 63k on mine.

Yes pretty much all LNF cobalts. It's because of oil getting into the intake system and building up on the valves over time. Powell's system fixes this by removing all oil from the air before it is plumbed back to the intake.

Ah ok, so there isn't an oil separator on the cobalts then? I will definitely have to look into getting one. Thanks for the info!

there are actually four oil seperator biscuits in an LNF rocker cover, orificed tube exits and entrances, fresh air intake and pcv valve check valve and a dirty side pcv check valve in the rocker cover.

It needs more/ The oil seperator we supply has two check valves in addition, and a drain back feature along with mesh screen and fine paper filters. AN fittings and lines. Pretty decent upgrade, ( back slap lol) I think.

John, my new kit ( deer damage killed old one ) came with an extra check valve fitting. I had emailed the instructions to the body shop and they left the said fitting off, and I cant locate the instructions I sent them. I know my original Powell PCV setup didnt use this. What does it do, and where does it go? Sorry to go off subject slightly, but it may be beneficial info while discussing your setup. I went from a teaspoon of oil each time I removed my intake tract to none at all with your PCV system.

the check valve screws into the 90 deg drain back fitting at the bottom of the seperator, angled between the rad tie bar and the alternator towards the radiator, and then the drain back line connects to that and then to the dipstick tube. The hose can easily be shortened, just remember the adaptor fitting is regular thread the hose sleeve is reverse thread ( left hand).

You have proclassic hose with full flow adaptor fittings

Sox-fan ran one for awhile and liked it. I'm sure if you dig up some of his posts/threads you'll find info about it. I'm tempted to do this and the throttle body phenloic too
