Lost on the MAP

So, I have read a bunch about the MAP sensors on the site and other places. I'm still pretty confused about what I need to do.

First, I need to replace my MAP sensor. Previously I got the MAP BARO code only when the weather was muggy and it was about to rain. I got a tune (HP Tuners) and am running 23psi boost. Since then I have been getting the code more frequently.

I have read that the stock sensor is only good to 21psi and that there is a 4 wire sensor but not sure if it's needed. If I will need to change the tune if I do get one, and how I would even wire it. Any links or information would be appreciated.

Reading this thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...ensors-244938/ I haven't figured out what psi is the max on stock sensors.

just get the 3 bar set from zzp with the connectors. not the ones you have to sodder.

Definitely only get the plug and play ones. And of course change your MAP sensor settings in the tune and other necessary table changes too.

That was my main concern, what would the effect be going with the new sensors and needing to wait for the tune? The sensors already throw a code so would it be any different?

Well, if you put the sensors in without a tune, you're going to get a code and only boost 5 psi.

I could be wrong so if anyone knows please correct me, but the Map Baro sensor should be measuring barometric pressure as a baseline that it needs to subtract to reach the desired boost level. So I think that is a different sensor then the MAP sensor on the intake manifold or the MAP sensor on the lower charge pipe. I believe that sensor only measures outside atmospheric pressure.

I have no idea, I thought the baro was on the MAP. I'll pull the exact code again and see what I can track down.
