New 08 Cobalt! Help please.
I just bought a new 08 cobalt and there are so many mods and tunes I have no clue where to start. Can anyone help me on this (please be most cost effective as possible)

Well people can say anything from a big turbo to just tune and keep it basic like an intake and d/p exhaust.. The key here is what are your plans for the car? Drag racing? Auto X? Never see the track and just want a fast street car? If you want to keep it the most basic id only throw on what you can personally take off if the car came with any warranty and are worried about it.. So a selectable staged and stock tune would be a great start and is pretty cost effective! But your overall plans/dreams for the car will help determine how much you mod, And how hard your wallet hates you!

guessing from the pics you posted, and the comments. It's your first car and you just started driving so my mod advise to you is to just drive the car for a while before you add any more power that it already has. I'm not trying to be a dick, but i know how i drove at 16 and i would probably be dead or killed some one if i had an ss back then.

Damn... you are very young You don't look like a retarded kid so I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt :P Be smart and don't do a whole bunch of stupid ****.. I know we all get stupid once in a while but try to think about the consequences of your actions before actually doing something stupid, or at least make sure it's safe to be stupid. lol contradiction I know, but maybe you get the point.
Anyways, as for mods, the cheapest (and necessary imo) with good gains would be:
K&N intake
ZZP catless downpipe (I hear Badmab is good, and even cheaper though)
Hot side charge pipes (I did both hot&cold, but cold has minimal gain, if any and is harder to install than the upper pipes)
Tune (either Trifecta or a reputable HpT guy.. be wary on who you get, Trifecta is always Vince's tunes)
On a sidenote.. since you're young and have a somewhat fast car, I'm sure the law will be bothering you, so I'd suggest keeping your car quieter than having a catless downpipe and a muffler delete at the same time. Catted pipes are most costly so might be a good idea to leave your muffler intact and go with a catless.. should keep the noise down somewhat.
Have fun with it, but please don't kill yourself or somebody else with it. I know how I drove at your age as a couple others have noted.. and it was always pedal to the metal for me.. as fast as the car would go You don't want to be doing that with this car!

as quoted earlier check my sig but since your still a little young i'm sure your going to scare yourself senseless with the power the car already comes with, but this might fall on deaf ears once the power bug has bitten you. So just do simple bolt ons and a tune to get it all working right together Intake, exhaust, DP, tune and you should be good for awhile. DO NOT RUSH IT or your next thread could be tears when you bang it up.

Start off with some tint, hid headlights, led tails first, they will make the car look even better! Then start with exhaust, intake and tune. Good luck with the balt!!

You would have found the answers you need searching but hey what the heck
Engine
normally:
Intake
Dp
Charge pipe
Tune/GMS1
I/C
above norm:
E85(probably gonna need a clutch)
Turbo upgrade
lower charge pipe
BOV
suspension:
lower it (however you choosea0
sway bars
Transmission:
Clutch
Short throw shifter
Wheel Tires:
Sticky tires
That the norm for the most part
