Trifecta has a group buy that gets you the tune for $345 right now. Once you remove warranty from the equation, I would say Trifecta is a better value all around, and it would be very had to argue otherwise I suspect. That's all I'm saying.
if people can afford to drop $200-300 on an intake to gain nothing but 2-3hp and a sound, 550 for a tune that keeps your warranty and gives you a decent power gain isn't expensive lol

Also I would recommend staying away from GMS1. It's simply too expensive for what you get, and since your car is an 08 it's almost out of warranty anyways.
My 08 just hit the 36k mile mark. I also spent the extra $800 bucks for a 4 year powertrain warranty.

Well, considering people on stock and trifecta tunes have popped their motors, maybe someone buying the GMS1 just doesn't want to risk the possibility of having to pay to have a piston replaced. That extra $200 is cheap insurance.

I don't necessarily support any particular tune, but stop swinging on Vince's nuts. Every tune has it's benefits and drawbacks. There is no reason to discourage someone from buying the GM upgrade if they're warranty conscious...

You start off making a good point about the reliability of aftermarket tunes, and then veer off into some strange straw man where I am championing Vince's tunes, and discouraging people under warranty from buying GMS1. wtf.

I simply think that getting a custom tune suited specifically for your own car, is a better value than getting a more expensive canned tune.

Thanks for all the input guys. I just found out about an hour ago that my cobalt has GMS1 sensors... So does that mean the learn down feature i turned off?
