New Glowing Turbo member?

Went through all gears on highway and got to 162 and had to let off. Stopped to check in everything and turbo was bright red. Scary but F***ing SWEET!! Hope that didn't hurt nothing:cssNET:

lmao, not good lol.... red glow means your getting ho, and when shit gets that hot it can warp.... But it happens, theres other reason why this happens but i dont want to go into it lol so i just stated the obvious lol

Was kinda scared something was going to go wrong and kinda didn't think about taking pics till it was cooled off. Sorry. But it was a scary sweet

Normal for turbos to glow.

kplaya186 03-27-2011 02:32 PM

If you are beating on it for a while it will glow. I wouldn't shoot for that as your goal to prevent any damage due to warping.

Grishbok 03-28-2011 10:06 AM

Didnt have a lighter one time, so we floored the car through a couple gears, pulled over and lit the cigarettes off the turbo.

ml2242 03-28-2011 10:14 AM

Turbo's always glow after you push them... did it on my buddys VW passat because we had no lighter for a blunt.

you would have melted a piston at that temperature. lol were you looking at your cat temps on a RPD? that's based on algorithms and not accurate what so ever

wantedSS/TC 03-28-2011 04:02 PM
