New Setup

hey guys!

so im trying to get an idea of what to expect from my brand new build. ive done everything possible to the car (or so i think) to run the 7163 to its max. the only thing stock on the car right now is the IM. so heres the question.

is it possible to get the full advertised 60lb/min out of the 7163 on an LNF with E? spinning to 7400. if so, what boost level should i run it at to achieve those flow numbers or close to within those rpms and what type of power should i be seeing (or have you guys seen) once its all said and done? i just want to make sure everything is right when compared to what others have done once the tune is done and i put the car on the rollers.

would 550 be possible? less? more? obviously different dynos read differently but i just wanna know what to expect more or less. i will be getting on the same exact dyno i made 460whp on with a 100% stock engine.

what do you guys think?

thanks!

You can, but 60 lbs/min is right at the bleeding edge of it's abilities. So you'll end up with very reduced efficiency and likely very reduced lifespan.

I'm going to guess you can get 50-55lbs a min with the KO4 housing on the exhaust and the flow characteristics of the ecotec heads. They def leave a lot on the table as far as flow goes.

Don't focus on peak number, look at the power under the curve, with the cams (assuming stage 2) you should see the power band grow the most in the mid-range and gain some up top as well.

I'd guess you'll be able to get close to 550 assuming your 450 on a stock motor was on pump and not e

using the zfr housing, stage 2 cams and that stock motor run of mine was on full E85. i had built the head to try and break 500 with the stock block but never got around to dynoing the car before now swapping to the built bottom end. youre right about that curve though the turbo does make power nicely on the street and very quickly.

i guess my main thing is just trying to see what kind of numbers others have put up with maxing this turbo out to see if im in the same ballpark once done.
