This thread is scaring me lol.
I have a 2009 SS Coupe that's a 10/2008 model. I don't know how to tell where it was made, but no porus block yet. I have 18,850 miles as of now.

Where does the block crack or become porous? Is it a central location for everyone?
Reason I ask is because I had a similiar problem when my aftermarket filter sucked water into the motor. Insurance rebuilt the motor once, and it spun the #1 main bearing, the dealer rebuilt it a 2nd time under the assumption it was improperly done the first time, and it spun the same bearing and cracked the cylinder in the process.
They claimed the cylinder was cracked from the beginning, so there may be a weakspot in that section of the block.
