cheap exhaust idea

Went to my mechanic and we put my car up on the lift and I asked him how I could make my exhaust louder and we discussed deleting the muffler and putting the Res in its place and just welding a straight pipe where the Res was... how would that be?

I can't just delete the muffler because there's a balt near me that has countless of tickets due to his deleted muffler

Moving the res wont change anything. and chopping the muffler doesn't do anything but sound different.

Cheapest exhaust mod: Disconnect downpipe from cat back, add thin stainless washers to studs, re-install pipe & torque. Just hope your front O2 doesn't go out or else the fumes from running insanely rich will make you nauseous. Of course I wouldn't know this first hand...that would be crazy...

If the Local balt is NA or SC his car is much louder than your TC would be with no muffler.

The turbo acts as a muffler/resonator in It's own right. A muffler delete is louder, but shouldn't cause any issues with the heat as long as youre not deep into the throttle. It won't net you any performance though.

Don't be a hack, save money buy a exhaust system. It's not a civic.

Just get a catless downpipe with the stock exhaust and call it a day
