porous block

I am just getting in the market for a cobalt and was wondering if there was a way to check if the car has this issue?

If the owner knows about it he will just add coolant before i get there.

From what I hear the car will run just fine with this issue for some time

I have been reading on here and just havent found anything besides sending the oil in to get it checked.

Does this happen with the 2010? Havent seen anyone with this issue. most I see are 09's

It was an occurance that happened to mid 09 models. There shouldn't be they issue on 08s or 10s

Unless someone bought a used block of somebody and it happens to be one of the afflicted.

Car won't run for long with this issue, depending on how much coolant is in the oil I guess. Check the oil , if it's milky color, grayish don't buy. 2010 most likely not an issue
