Post everything about a Han Exhaust/DP for the LNF
Post everything about a Han Exhaust/DP for the LNF
ive been doing my research on a full exhaust system for my Cobalt Turbo and I have read all positive reviews about Hahn's 3" cat back exhaust and catless down pipe!
I think that the SOUND and look(well, what you CAN see) is amazing.
what I want to achieve in this thread is a TOTAL review of anyone out there who is currently running a Hahn 3" catback system with or without a catted DP.......
im hoping that there will be somemore videos floating out there of the Hahn system that I havent heard yet.
Tell what you like about it........and maybe there might be a few dislikes tho I havent heard of any (not unless you count the problem that they have on lowered Cobalts, but I heard that there new upcoming system will solve that problem)
thanks

I have two customers. both have hahn everything, one is recent exhuast system and fits very well. One is from last year and fits like crap. I have tried everything to fix it with subbie hard hangers and all its gonna take a re-bend of the axle over.
I think Hahn is overpriced and regretably talking to Bill Hahn Junior I did not get a warm feeling about his knowledge of lowered cars , or rotated mounts and his exhaust systems. He was happy the latest one fits, wont do diddly about the one that does not.
I would go with anything zzp ,to tell the truth, for exhaust and if you get excited about i/c try the performance autowerkes one they are very good and fit well Garret cores are very good.
the Hahn intercooler really is a pita its heavy, and big, and the fit is , well , crammed in there.
ps for my money I would stay with the stock cats and be responsible before the state eco ***** get after you. No one has shown me any power increase comparison numbers cat vs catless on an LNF
also in Ontario MTO is tracking peeps with catless systems, sniffing road side, big fines. Hot rods have to have the full emissions equipment that came with the new motor if installed. I.e 36 chevy coupe with a ZR1 engine? full emissions and fuel evap system for the engine must be installed. Fines run about 1500 + and then the cost of putting in all that stuff on top to get a new license sticker.
cats work well for me lol cheaper

i dunno. the mpx is a rip off of the hahn and folks say it is just as good and cheaper. ZZP do good fab work for sure but I am no expert on LNF sounds. I use an LNF cat back on my SC but i recently stuck an LSJ muffler on it as the LNF system on a supercharged car is waaaay too loud. U turbo guys got it good I tell ya. try a muffler delete straight pipe save a lot of money and it sounds good to me
hmmmmmm, thanks john! id love to get in touch with that guy you know who has the good hahn exhaust, ive got some questions to ask him........if you could hook me up id be grateful

yeah you gotta hear it in person..modernperformance did make a post on facebook saying they wouldnt mind a video of the mpx combo and i said id try to get around to it. i just may try and do that tomorrow after work see if i can capture a good one. that with my forge bpv..imo like the best ive heard. i also still have my side exit exhaust in the garage..i may have even liked that more but i hated the cutout in the bumper and there not being an exhaust there. the turbo just sounded so good in the side exit..
I have a Hahn on my sedan. It does not fit the best, it does rattle/make contact when I have 4 people in the car. I am not lowered.
As for sound, it has a nice mellow tone to it. When you get into it, a nice sound. It is just a bit louder than stock. While driving down the highway, it is barely noticeable. It is not raspy like others that I have heard. I still have the stock downpipe on due to the EPA nannies around here.
For looks, it is much better than that stock monster that GM put on. The muffler looks nice from the back. It does not give you that fart can appearance. Neither does the MPx unit.
If I did not get this used, I would not have bought it. I do not feel that it was worth the money that they are asking for this new.

mpx is nice, sounds great, and is quality, i think the quality is a lot better than the hahn catback, and the price is nice, i'm a welder by trade, looked over the mpx when i got it and is very nice quality, looked at hahn also was pretty but the quality with the slip fit just didn't appeal to me. mpx is solid and is made for a lowered car, which mine is not. never heard a rattle or bang out of it. and the sound with the stock downpipe are very nice, sounds close to stock at cruzing speeds and sounds awsome at wot.

And Hydro thank you for making a GOOD thread for once i give youthe tip of my hat
GO badmab catless downpipe
and go 3" Jannetty Racing Side Exit
I still think Hahn has the best downpipe. Mostly because the O2 sensor mount is better than the rest. Megan copied it, and it comes close, but Hahn still has the fewest code issues. If you're tuned, it doesn't matter which DP you get. Just make sure it has stainless steel flanges, not just the piping.
hmmmmm, more on this please. there is a member on here with an 09 Summit White Cobalt SS and he has his lowered on BSG's. He has the FULL Hahn system and it sounds AMAZING! i can honestly say that there is no system out there that sounds as good as his Hahn.
MPX catless is nice but i dont like the look of the tail pipe and it just sounds too weak, only a notch above stock sound
ZZP sounds like a F45kin cat purring at IDLE let alone WOT......too ricer for me
Muffler deletes SOUND GOD AWFUL.....i dont know why people do this to there car, its loud and sounds rough
HAHN just seems to have a SMOOTH sound that comes on linear and throaty at WOT, a sound that everyone could tip theirr hat too
Im gonna own my cobalt ss turbo FOREVER s money is not a problem since i will have to live with the sound of the exhaust forever
anyone else out there have video's, experiencee or their opinion
im eager to hear more reviews on the full HAHN system
