Ram Air RK Sport hood for cobalt ss?

Does anyone have the RK Sport Functional Ram air hood for thier Cobalt SS Turbo?

I know that it is made for the G5 but im wondering if anyone has any pics of it on their Cobalt SS Turbo.......if it even fits???

If you do, please show pictures

Im also wondering if people have noticed a performance change once the hood was installed due to more air.

Im thinking that the K & N Typhoon intake and this hood would be a HUGE gain!

Thanks

Which RK Hood? Theres the Cobalt one and the G5 one. The cobalt one works best with the GMP intake for the 2.0 or 2.4/2.2.

yea i made a thread about this a while back, and most people responded with, " not a good idea because of possible water damage to the engine, especially with the K&N intake." as far as fitment goes, yes it should fit with our cars. and i would imagine power gains are probably not very noticeable. The only benefit i could see is dissipating more hot air from the engine. now if you got a hydro shield for your air filter, and had the ram air hood, you might be ok. hopefully it doesnt rain too much where you live. hope this helps

Looks odd to me since its designed to flow with the Pontiac style grill.

I guess "MOST PEOPLE" don't know !

I have the hood, but not a filter in stock location and I can tell you
there is a water channel built into the underside of the hood and I have
never seen a drop of water come out that spot.

Now if you open the hood after rain or a good washing (different story) water does
come out of the air hole and the hole at the hood latch, but not while it is closed.
I think the hood looks great on a G5, not sure about the balt though.
I bought it for looks, its an ok hood, few minor issues and needed lots of sanding.

What he said ...... reminds me of the old grand-am ram air hoods . Althou it does look better than the RKsport Cobalt hood I posted below. I wonder what the added pressure from the top does to the flow at the bottom inlet for the intercooler ..... doesn't that air shoot up towards the hood? The air damn angle makes it looks like it grabs air from below a directs it towards the top of the radiator. Make sense to anyone else??

Here is the back side of the above hood..... It looks like it trys to direct flow towards the airbox but i wonder if the K&N will let the hood close cause it sits higher than the stock air box . I also think it's designed for the 2.4 and i don't know how close the airbox's are to a TC.

The one that makes sense to me ( and I'm not an engineer so I could be an idiot about pressure's and airflow ) Is something like the heat extracting hood below . It gives the openings in the front a place to discharge the air.

RKsport states
With our baffled design, outside elements such as rain, are kept out of the engine compartement.

the dual vent hood looks awesome.......i will admit it looks better on the G5 and it does look like the old Grand Am hood But i like the fact that it is functional........not fake LIKE the grand am hood was

and lets be honest............its stylish and sutle unlike the HUGE 2005 STI air vent..........which I actually like a lot hahahahaha

did you notice a "power gain" even slighty when you put the hood on? Where did you get it and how much did it cost?
