Springs for the SS/TC

I'll start of by saying I didn't put this in the Suspension Tech section on purpose becasue it's mostly LSJ guys there and I want LNF guys answers.

I really want to lower my car, for me however it's always function over form. Therefore not hurting handling or better yet improving handling comes before the improved look of the car lowered. I know that the SS/TC's LE5 Suspension is actually pretty good and is a big step up over the LSJ therefore what worked for them won't exactly work for us.

I would love to drop the car about an inch maybe a little bit lower but I don't want the car to be riding on it's bump stops nor do I want the springs too firm. I DD my car all year round (winter too) but I also participate in Autocross events and do as many back canyon passes as I can therefore handling is very important to me. I'm not about to shell out $1200 for coilovers + the time spent on corner scales and adjusting ride heights, rebounds..... Which is why I think springs on the stock struts are my best bet. So which ones? As far as I know we have B&R, Eibach Sports, Eibach Pro's, Canucks and Pedders (any others I am missing) is there a real advantage to spending $400 vs. $200? Looking for opinions from guys that also either track or auto-x their cars not just guys that drag race and ideally guys that use their SS/TC as a daily driver all year round.

This year I want to lower it and next year I'm going for tires and a rear sway bar.

Thanks in advance for the help :cssNET:

Sorry, but I am an LSJ guy but I have basically the setup you are looking to do. I just put pedders on and have the hardcore bar from OTTP as well as some new BFG KDW2's. The setup would be the same as what you might be thinking of doing minus the different struts that you have.

So far, I really like the setup! The springs are a little stiffer but not crazy. They dropped the car a little more than 1" all the way around.

I'll let you know how the setup feels at an AutoX when I go on Friday. I have autoX'd the setup minus the springs and it was pretty great then. The springs should only add to the performance!

Hope this helps.

I am in pretty much the exact situation as you OP. I decided on the ARK GT-F springs because i got a really good deal on them ($201 shipped). I can't comment on the performance of them yet- I'll have them on Thursday and then i have to figure out a way to get them on.

I'm 09 LNF

Pedders are the only spring there that are a performance spring and they give you a little drop. The other springs are drop springs and all have coilbind. If you want performance go pedders, looks use the others.

Never heard of these before.

Pedders seems to be the favourite I guess that would explain why they cost $400

I've played with Pedders springs and Pedders coilovers. Both are so much win.

The other spring options currently out there just don't touch it for handling, and many are a step down in handling/performance from even stock.

I had the same worries about springs as you op. From my research, online and through some friends, it was brought to my attention that the Pedders are just the best option from a performance standpoint. Those springs coupled with our SS/TC shocks seem to be a great combo. I just finished my install yesterday and I LOVE them. The ride is almost stock. They still have to settle a bit over the coming months but, to me, they are perfect. Combine that with the sway bar you mentioned and your set for some real track time.

BTW The good looks it gives the balt is a nice side effect ;)
