i think i may have narrowed it down to the TMAP. just went out to my car, which has been sitting in the driveway all day while i was at work, and the bark ONCE AGAIN worked on AC power, then, after start up, was gone. so i unplugged the connecter and checked my RPD. as suspected, just like when unplugging the MAP sensor, the screen reads "No Data." so i went back under the hood and plug the TMAP back in. Sure enough, the BARO started to read again. I turned the car on and off, also checking while on AC power, and she still seems to be reading correctly. so maybe this means i need to order a new TMAP. she was pretty oily when i pulled her out last night and cleaned her off. we'll see how she fairs in the morning before i head to work. i am so sick of that dang "flutter" when the BARO doesn't read correctly.

Do you have a boost reading when you rev up in neutral? If so, the TMAP is definitely to blame.

i do but barely. it may spike real quick to 1 psi, may 2.5psi or so if really rev it hard.

I've got a new TMAP coming tomorrow. so i'll swap it and see what happens. I just removed the old one and cleaned it off again. then went for a few rides and it seems to be holding up. reading baro reliably but still showing a boost reading of 1.5psi on the RPD while on AC power

i got a new TMAP installed and i can still register boost in neutral when i rev hard. i'm gonna try a re-flash tomorrow morning at the dealership in town and if that doesn't work i'm going to get a new ECM

Sorry, man. I know this is a pain in the ass. I wish you were close. I'd bring my stock ECM over to you so you could try it out. I don't feel safe sending it in the mail.

no worries man. i bought this girl used so i have no idea what the guy did to it. i'm going in tomorrow and i'm having the dealership reflash my ECM. if it fixes it, which i sure as hell hope it does, i'm gonna go for the gms1 upgrade. (question: if i buy just the upgraded map sensors and plug adapters, can i take it to the dealer and they tune the upgrade into it? or do i have to buy the whole kit to get like a pin code or something to give to whoever installs it to be able to upgrade the ECM's tune? because i can either buy the kit from ced for $510 or buy the upgraded map sensors and plug and play adapters from zap for $140.. i'd much rather do the later if its all the same thing)

if it doesn't work then it looks like i'll be buying a whole new ECM. although the only thing i haven't tried is new wiring.... hmm. maybe i'll have them check it out tomorrow.

I don't know anything about the GMS1 because I've never had it. I assume the reason you want GMS1 is for warranty? You can get a better tune more cheaply, if you're not worried about warranty.
