Trifecta tune vs GMS1
I currently have the stage one upgrade from gm, I am wondering if anyone knows if its worth it to get a trifecta tune? The Trifecta dealer said they can just leave the stage one on there and I can switch between the two via the cruise control button. Has anyone done this? I am mostly looking for something faster than gm stage one...is the Trifecta tune worth it? thanks
umm yea the trifecta tune is woth it!!!! its a hugh difference from gms1, and yea you can still keep the gms1 tune as your low boost feature through the cruise control trigger or if you want it can be activated through comp mod as well, but everyone seems to like the cruise button lol, what other mods do you have besides gms1??
depends on how long the warrenty is for and how far into it he is or how often he takes it in for service (bein a cobalt lol) if trifectra is worth it or not...
I don't care about warranty...and I have charge pipe, k and n intake, catless dp, and straight piped exhaust. Do they recommend a better clutch with the Trifecta? How much boost is the Trifecta?

I had the GMS1 and went trifecta. I did it for the warranty because the trifecta switchable tune is hidden from the dealer in almost every scenario (unless they actually send your ECU in). Couple of things.
1) You will love how much more power you have with Trifecta. It is a huge difference.
2) You will probably end up leaving your cruise(tune) on all the time. You'll only turn it off when someone else is driving your car. Or when you bring it in for warranty work.
3) DO NOT GO ABOVE 24-25PSI ON YOUR TUNE!!! You risk blowing your engine within the year. <-- I say this because a number of people have, not because of anything else.
4) If you don't care about warranty, then HPTuners is a good way to go also. There are some very good HPTuners out there (BYT and Term2 are well known) and they can get more power for you than a Trifecta tune. They cannot do certain things that Trifecta can but they are still very effective.
5) If you want to, you can do a combo tune of Trifecta+HPTuners. This is a really great option and something to consider.

Theres a big difference, i did a 3rd gear pull on video vs snowblade (a member here...) he have GMS1, mine have trifecta 22 psi, we are both stock minus GMS1 or trifecta tune...

The Trifecta tune is hidden from the GM Tech II Tool which is what they use to check/scan the ECU at the dealership. However if they were to send your ECU in to GM Headquarters in the event something serious happend they could then discover that your car has been tuned unless...... you buy the Trifecta Dealer Kit it's an additional $200 above the cost of the tune but it's the best investment you can make, with the kit you can flash back to stock before dealer visits if your concerned.
That video is so dang quiet... I could barely hear the cars haha.. Mine is so darn loud and sexy sounding now.
A trifecta is a great tune. OP you should be very happy with it. Later if you hunger for more power get a Trifecta tunable base and a HP tunes file over that... You will find that to be pretty much the best setup for power.

Heres a video i did with another camera to show stock versus tuned back to back if it can also give an idea for the OP...

Trifecta FTW! I have had it for over a year now & couldn't be any happier w/it. I like the fact you can hide it from factory, unless they know about it & try to put your car into trifecta mode then just smile & shrug your shoulders lol. My dealership doesnt give me problems w/my mods, infact they all gather around it everytime I bring it in. Nothing but compliments I get from them, mine is the only lnf they ever get to see along w/a local lsj that I have yet to see around. Then again I take good care of my car & don't beat the **** out of it, the general manager there told me he don't care of the mods I have just as long as my car doesn't look like its been beat on. Funny thing is I see him at our local drag strip occasionally. I feel weird about it but he always gives me props on my runs & what I have done w/the car. I hope you enjoy your trifecta tune as much as I am!
i havnt heard of as many blown motors and blown turbos associated with goin above 25 psi, 25 itself is edging on not being efficient and nothing over it is effecient with the stock turbo....im on a 16-23 selectable tune, as are most people i sell tunes to, the low boost can vary for whatever you want from 14-18 or maybe even 14-20 but idk y you'd have a low boost settin so close to the high boost....
at the track i use my 16psi for traction purposes lol (drag strip) and when i hit 2nd gear its high tune (23) all the way to the end, or its high tune for roll races 30mph or above...
all i really use my low boost for is dd'ing and traction at the track or from digs in general
but 22 would be perfect for what your tryin to accomplish! and maybe 16 low boost if im understanding ur question...
