If your under warranty bring it in if it's leaking . A TSB is a bulliten that helps tech's fix common issues when diagnosing vehicle's , they are not recall's . The document that is listed above is a Preliminary Information document , it's not a TSB yet . A PI is like advise from GM to help techs do their job .

Sorry for the confusion , I post these just so people can have a heads up so they keep an eye out incase they develop a problem . Most of time a tsb will only effect a small number of cars built during a certain period of time.

i do have a small wet spot, but its a easy job so i rather fix it myself over the weekend instead of having my car at the dealership for like a week.

This bulletin is being revised to end the need for engineering information and provide a correction procedure. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-06-01-017B (Section 06 -- Engine/Propulsion System).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Condition
Some customers may comment about an engine oil leak.

Cause
Engineering has determined the cause of some engine oil leaks may be attributed to bedplate porosity at the rear A/C bolt hole mounting bracket.

Correction
DO NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE.

If the engine oil leak is diagnosed as coming from the rear A/C bolt hole mounting bracket, use the following repair procedure to correct the condition. The oil leak in this area is coming from a non-pressurized hole.

•After the engine has cooled, clean the existing oil out of the hole and off the head of the bolt using a low VOC brake cleaner (P/N 12378392 or equivalent).
•Apply a Teflon® pipe thread sealant (P/N 12346004 -- LOCTITE™ 565 or equivalent) to the bolt and reinstall.
Warranty Information
For vehicles with an oil leak in the A/C compressor bracket area, use the labor operation number listed below.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
