well i got my ss/tc last week and i was having a joy ride around my neighborhood. the speed limit is 30 and i was coming to a stop sign so i down shifted and the exhaust pops a little and there is this guy that lives at the hbouse before the stop sign that always yells at me to slow down, yet im going 30....pisses me off alot, what bout u guys? ever happen to you before?

 

Just some Jerk with nothing better to do and probably pissed off at the world....about 90% of Americans.....haven't you heard....we're a nation of whiners

Yes. I got yelled at because some ******* homeowner who was probably having a bad day didn't like the fact that I was driving my bright red car with shiny rims past his house at 15-20mph. The posted speed limit was 30mph. He came running down his driveway yelling at me, and I quote "slow down *******!" This resulted in a nice lockup of the brakes, a jam into reverse, and me going "excuse me?"

Him: "I always see you flying through here every day, you are driving too fast you punk kid"
Me: I am sorry but did it ever occur to you that there are 3 other chevrolet cobalts in this neighborhood, all of which are RED? I was doing 20mph max and the posted speed limit is 30mph in this stretch of road. You don't look like a law enforcement officer to me, so why are you telling me how fast I can drive?"
Him: "I am sure its you blahblahblah""
Me (knowing this would confuse the **** out of the guy): "Have you ever heard the sweet sound of a blown LSJ at full throttle?"
Him: "What?"
Me: "Here, let me show you!"
I took off gently, and went WOT around 5mph or so and left a nice cloud of smoke behind me Ah that made my day right there. Everytime I drive by this guy when he is outside he gives me the eye and I beep and wave, rofl.

 

haha i have the same thing but its probably worse for me casue i live in a tinny ass tow but right out side of down it goes right from 30 to 55mph so i get right on it in 2nd and keep in mind i have a 3inch exhaust. they stopped me one day and told me to slow down they have kids there. i told them im not speeding so if you have a problem call the cops. and yes i still do it.

 

now THAT would have been something to witness........Poetic Justice...

 

LOL his neighbors were out when I lit up the tires. I always drive slow in residential neighborhoods out of respect for the people who live there, but ****.. this guy was just plain being an ******* for no reason. I could see if I was speeding but 15-20mph max in a 30 is ridiculous.

 

some people dont get it....they get mad at u for driving "fast" when its the speed limit and they yell cause they have kids, yet when its u in the car and can take that life away so thats why they cant sy anything to u, but then again, i would yell too if my kids were almost hit by a person driving fast =/

neighbors down the road's son(follow me so far lol) just got a black 2dr cobalt, mine is black 2dr g5. About a week ago I was on my way out when a group of ppl(neighbors) approach me, and ask why I'm squealing my wheels at 3am? I"m like wtf are u talking about? Come to find out, it was that little bastard.

It happens again, and again I get approached by the same group. This time I'm pissed. I tell them let me show you something, I get into my car, and hop on the throttle while in neutral and my exhaust barks to life. The balt is stock. So I tell the group, if I ever decide to peel out, you'll hear more then god damned tires squealing. Haven't had a problem since.

 

I hear this. I also get grief in my hood for speeding when I'm not. I called the cops on the people who yelled at me to slow down after a while. I stoped a couple of times & backed up to asked what the problem was. They repley" stop speeding" I not speeding I say. Then they start talking to me like they are my parents. So you have the right to call the cops on them if they are ******* harrassing you. Anyone who runs in the street to slow people down & may cause a accident. I hope you get hit by a hit & run driver.

I know I called the cops sometimes on there kids playing in the street too for busting my ***** for speeding when I'm not. I got 7 yrs w/ not 1 anything on my record & 12+yrs no accidents + no criminal record. I know I lived in my town over 15+ yrs. I know when point fingers at me I point back. This is my way.
Remember some of those ******* yelling at you have anger issues. Some have felonys too on that anger issue too. This is why video proof fucked some people allready in my case.

ya, i hate it cause i have a dirt bike too, and when im driving my sstc or my bike there are these african, and hispanic kids that jump outt in front of me to **** me off. and the bad thign is is that if i hit them its my fault. i wanna get one of those video cameras so i can catch them on tape, little bastards

 

next time u drive by there and u know their sittin waiting, stop your car, rev the engine a few times, then do a massive burnout towards them(being prepared to still stop) but hoping it scares them...........if that fails, their kids........try putting a bunch of spikey metal things on the front grille and maybe rip up an old shirt and spray some red paint on it and next time they see you they will also see a ripped up shirt with wat appears to be blood and a bunch of sharp objects sticking outta your grille.......maybe they'll get scared lol

Hmm.. I've noticed this too and I think I know the problem.

Lots of "old" people associate loud with fast. I know I have gotten some looks when I give it a bit of gas in 2nd and the intake tone rises a bit.

 

Not all of us whine every where we go, Just blow stuff out of poportion.

people are stupid. when i was younger i used to get that all the time in my trans am. again when i was younger i would take out my truck that night and do 4wheel drive donuts on the lawn... it made me feel better and they didnt know it was me cause of my car and truck and commuter vehicle... so anyways it was great.

 

My buddy lives in a neighborhood that has a 30mph posted speed limit, and people are constantly bitching and moaning about how i drive too fast when i'm doing 10 under the posted limit.

What do I do now?

I drive around in first gear, so if they claim I'm going too fast, they can suck my *****, because I can't go faster than 30mph in first.
