What happens when your SS/TC gets rear ended...
 

Well I was heading home late last night when an area of the highway gets some black ice on the road. I start slowing down but the car behind me does not seem able to do so. Long story short, my rear gets hit pretty much directly on the SS badge.

Here is the aftermath. Thankfully everyone is fine and there appears to be no strutural damage. The car drives perfectly but the plastic bumper piece didnt take the hit too well.

This was the first imperial blue I have ever seen.

Hey, you will be able to get a wingless trunk now.

sucks to hear but it could be a lot worse.

Make sure the shop you take it to makes absolutely sure that there was no frame damage to the car.

Damn good luck man... doesnt look too bad, hopefully just the lights, bumper, trunk and lip need to be replaced. And we live in the same town apparently... cool haha
What do shops do with broken parts afterwards? cause I kinda wanna refurb that lip for myself haha

Well glad no one was hurt. Now the body shop can order a trunk without spoiler holes!

That really sucks, but I think I did one better. haha We were driving up from FL to WV for the holidays and I had just gotten a 2010 Cobalt SS and my boyfriend has his EVO 9 MR, well a deer ran out in front of me as soon as we crossed into WV. I hit the deer, slammed on my brakes and my bf tried to stop behind me and rear ended me at around 70.... well let's just say that neither of those cars exist anymore, they were both totaled. Sucks but it happens so I feel your pain. I had only had mine for a week.

My 07 just got outa the shop from a rear end collision. I had some minor shell damage to the trunk area, ended up around 8k for parts a labor. Damn those semis!

yeah dont feel to bad....... i got ran off the road by a semi truck in my 1996 saleen that only had 7000 original miles on it. the trucker didnt even stop to check if i was ok. needless to say i fixed the car and its better then saleen ever would have made it but it almost totaled due to the fact of its old age. now the cars worthless since its been in an accident.

damn that sucks big time.

and op, glad nobody was hurt and ya have the body shop double check to make sure there is no frame damage. just cuz it looks like there isn't, doesn't mean its not.

hey i was just wondering if OP was in or around New Milford, NJ sometime this spring/summer.

i've only seen one imperial blue coupe SS and it was in front of my friends house.

Very true. While visually there is no frame damage I can spot, next week it is going to the body shop for an official verdict.

I have driven through that area a few times over the year.


Well I guess this is going to kill any future resale value for the car so no point in keeping it close to stock.....Once it is all fixed, I may have to start doing some serious engine mods! :lol:
