Just trying to get a feel for what most people are looking to do as far as tunes for your SS/TC.

Vote in the poll so we can see where most people are headed.

I picked the "GM Stage 'Upgrade' Kit Tune" because I plan on putting that on first, than later tuning it with HP Tuners after a compressor wheel upgrade, intake, dual exhausts, downpipe, intercooler, charge piping, & a atmospheric BOV.

I'm going with the GM stage tune for a few years. Then after I've owned the car for a while and with no seriouse problems I'll go Trifecta.

I voted but i'm really up in the air about tunes..... I like Hahn's but not for the price, if it were priced
closer to a Cobb Accessport then maybe. Still, I keep reading so much about trifecta and it seems like it would be awesome but I still dont know how " safe" there canned tuned is... I'm waiting for the GM tune because I do indeed want the sensors and all that comes with for future tunes...

The included sensors with the HHR kit are MAP sensors, so I would assume they increase the resolution over the stock sensors for additional boost the calibration adds. Its interesting that GM felt the need to switch out those MAP sensors, yet obviously tons of other tuners out there are having no issues. Makes me wonder what bar the stock sensors are.

I'm waiting for the stage kit before making any moves, although I do see mixed reviews from HHR owners.

EDIT: Did a little research around the internet, and the included MAP sensor with the HHR kit (GM P/N 55206797) is a 3 bar (29.5 PSI) MAP sensor. On a Solstice forum they claim their stock MAP sensors are 2.7 bar (25 PSI).

So for the people in the know on these cars... I do apologize as I'm a new owner.

Our cars have two MAP sensors and a MAF/Airflow Meter on the intake pipe. Why two MAP's? Which sensor is the car actually even tuning itself on when @ WOT... a combinaton of all of them?

Obviously GM is worried about running out of resolution on those MAP sensors, so why isn't it a problem for the tune sellers?

If you don't care about your warranty, get a custom dyno tune.

Well technically so is the Hahn PPC....Hahn just already has the variables locked in where as the HP Tuners lets you edit them to your liking. So technically it is a custom tune, but I thought it should be part of this list because a lot of people here seem to distinguish between that and HP Tuners due to it being something that is physically owned.

I'm planning on the GM upgrade tune and then following it up with another different one to lock in my changes after I do the intake, exhaust, turbo wheel, etc.

more than likely ill go with the GM. i want to keep my warranty and plus the GM is always a safe bet (im not goin for a maxed out racer, i need it to still be a reliable DD). if i were to go aftermarket tho, id go trifecta.

Interesting to see how Hahn was once the big player in town and now only has a single vote.
