Whats the BEST Clutch to Buy for Modded SS t/c?

Hey guys, Just got Tuned and my Stocker is Slipping all over the place from the Much added Tq and Hp, So time to Upgrade to a clutch that can hold the newly added power, My Tuner recommended a Exedy Hyper Single but their like OVER $1,000! I have a budget like most everyone else and I'd rather not spend that much if I absolutley dont have to, I see some of you have SPEC3+, KY Stg3, Clutchmasters, etc. What is the BEST Bang for your Buck? Oh and I'd rather Not have any Clutch Chatter or Clutch Noises IF I can avoid it, My MODS are in my Sig and I'm planning on doing a E47 Tune once I get the clutch done, So power #'s will be around 350-360WHP/400TQ, Thanks!

Ky stage 3.. Exert hyper singles are ****, shitty pedal, and requires a lot of push on master which causes the firewall to bend in where master is at. Junk junk junk.... Don't know who your tuner is but that's a dumb deduction on a mainly daily driven car....

i know a few people around me running kys and they all dont seem to like them, most of them are slippping after a few thousand miles, also i have heard spec is hit and miss. When i need one im going to get clutchmasters or spec though.

If you want no chatter, the ZZP stage 4 is a non-puck type disk, so you won't get any. It's still upwards of $900, though. The KY is puck-style, so you'll get chatter, but it's only $600.

Ive driven the Exedy and currently on my second ky. I absolutely love my ky3!!! The pedal feels just like stock, and is actually lighter than my buddies gmpp on his SC. My recommendation is the ky

Yeah I have ra every single ky clutch and never once have I slipped lol. Remember the stage three is only rated to 450-465 ft lbs

And any clutch life depends on driving habits

I hear ya CCSS3, I respect your opinion, Its just that everyone that I talk to that had a KY Clutch said they are noisy as hell and they wern't to happy with them, It just sucks cause when I had my SS s/c the GMPP Clutch was Awesome AND Cheap, Plus everyone that you talked to about the GMPP had something good to say about it, Now the LNF is a Diff story, You hear MIXED reviews on every single aftermarket clutch for the LNF. Agh!

I have a custom KY clutch. It's kind of in between a stage 2 and stage 3. Minimal chatter, and I drive it daily. Would be very hard to have better.

i have clutchmasters stage 3 with a aluminum flywheel. absolutely great clutch once its broken in. at first the clutch pretty much grabs as soon as you let up even a little bit. but now that its broken in, it grabs about the same place as the stock clutch and has about the same pedal pressure. while ya got your transmission apart, might as well put a lightweight flywheel on and reduce the turbo lag.

I had a KY3. It wasn't the easiest thing to drive but it worked. For $375 shipped, I couldn't complain.

Nice, Ya I heard decent things about Clutchmasters, I think I'm gonna go with a SPEC 3+ with SPEC Flywheel, Its NOT a Puck style clutch so it wont have any chatter, Cause I Deff dont want any chatter out of my clutch, But damn $375 for a KY Stage 3 is cheap as hell, I wonder where they are for that price? I have seen them on Turbo Tech for about $500-$600.

Lol, ttr has them or 400ish lol not even close to 600.. I've blown 3 clutch masters up, 2 spec and one hyper single. And no it's not from driver error, if it was I would be blowing my clutches up regularly .... Which I haven't and when they did go, it was during a pull

I think it was the stage 3 PP with a less aggressive ceramic pad on the friction plate. I could be wrong about the PP. If anyone really wants one that is less aggressive than the stage 3, call them up and ask them what I ordered. I think it works great for daily driven cars. I stopped doing NLS though. It does still grab pretty hard when you come off the clutch.
