Found it online earlier
It was on ebay, new from dealer. Has G85 option, Sunroof, but no USB stereo. So if anyone is in the market for one of these run a search on ebay. The price was $19k. Just thought I'd pass it along in case anyone is in the market. Wish it came along when I was searching for mine, it would only be a long days drive to Missouri to get it.

Actually the 15 rally yellow sedans has turned into 17 ..... 2 have been found that weren't on the list of 15 that was compiled . Ptroy actually has one of the one's that isn't supposed to exist .

 

I actually don't have one of them that shouldn't exist, I found it while trying to account for all the victory red ss sedans. I probably worded my message confusingly to rukkee, but nonetheless there are 2 now that weren't on the list. I stumbled accross another RY sedan as well, which i will try to find and see if is part of the list of 15 or not.

I think one of the RY Sedans was in the press fleet... I remember one of the major car magazines used one for a sport compact comparison test.

 

I have one of the other two then cause mine isnt on the list either.

I remembered seeing one out here at a dealer in WA this summer. Took a look and sure enough it is still on the lot.

Weird, though - I was looking at the window sticker, and comparing mine. My base vehicle price is $ 23,425.00 & I have the identical option packages totalling $ 1420.00.

So, my total vehilce price is :

24,845.00 + Destination ( 670.00 ) = 25,515.00 whereas this one is $ 24,855.00

Was there a late ' 08 price increase , or an early '09 decrease ?

Weird.

I still like that yellow, but my white is stealthy - looks like all of the other Cobalt Sedans on the road - Heh heh heh , Oh, HI , Officer !

That car has been on the lot for a long time. I got a flat tire right in front of the dealership (odd, huh?) and pulled in to get the tire fixed. Ended up parked right next to this SS as it was parked right next to the garage. I'm pretty sure that was back in the spring. I'm guessing someone could get a good deal on it as it's been there so long. Sharp car if you're into yellow and 4 doors.


I kind of wonder though. It's cool and all that they only made 14 or 18 of these, but will that ever add to the value of the car? I mean we're talking 4 door Cobalt here, not a 1 of 8 Aztec Gold C5 Corvette, or the one and only Platinum Purple Metallic one. As much as I like mine, these aren't really collector cars.


The difference is exactly $660, which is the destination charge on this one. Hmm!?

 

The only thing that will make these cars valuable is if GM goes green and kills any type of performance sport compact car. If that happens the rarity in numbers will come into play . Look at the 68-69 SS Nova's with the rare optional 375hp 396. They are worth a bundle and were the Cobalt of their day. They weren't thought to be a collector car back in the day ....just budget performance .

Hell my dad drove his LS6 70 chevelle threw the winter in 1970 ..... he never thought they would be worth anything either. He bought the car brand new and couldn't afford the insurance on a winter beater that year. We still have pic's of the LS6 car so it's not one of those stories about what I had back then....seems everyone that had a 70 chevelle had an LS6 if u ask them 30 years later.

 

It's destination charge is $ 660.00 There is still a price differential.

Now that I think about it, I saw this on my Buddy's '99 Camaro SS and the one I bought - I don't remember the $ differences, but same idea - like a mid year increase.

Seems kinda weird, although '08 was full of steel surcharges, price increases, etc. so mebbe they were trying to compensate for that.

I always thought my SS/SC was more expensive ...amazing that they were almost exactly the same cost.
