Post Will MICHELIN PS4S 245/40ZR18 fit without rubbing?

I picked up a new to me 2010 LNF with 52k miles and I'm the 3rd owner of this way to be clean SS so i swooped it up last October and drove it up the ALCAN last November which was a blast. I did pick up some alpine studless tires for the drive but it's mainly a summer car for me. a cheap set of no name new tires were put on the car at the dealership before i bought it.

I'm looking at replacing this cheap tires with something i could driver it on the streets and take it to the course on the weekends. I'm set on either super sports, sport cup 2's or the new ps4s. I'm leaning towards the ps4s's myself but the only 18" tires they make are the two sizes wider of 245/40ZR18.

has anybody swapped a set of tires that size into the factory wheels/height without any rubbing? I've even thought of maybe some 17" with some shims to clear the calipers but I'm pretty happy with the factory wheels.

245 are a little wide for that rim. 235 is as big as you really want to go unless handling isn't as big of a concern. 245 will fit as far as width, 255 is where you can get into trouble.

That and the sidewall starts to get pretty big. Too much height and width won't actually handle great.

Plus 235 is fine the extra 10mm wouldn't make a difference.

My summer Yokohama advance neiva ad08r tires 235-40-18 mounted on 8" wheels are as wide as my 245 drag radials mounted on 7.5's. They really need 8.5 wheels.

I thought Powell runs 255 for his car? Unless your talking just run to tire size?

Probably on a wider wheel and a smaller sidewall profile.

You put a wider and taller tire on a narrow wheel and it'll roll more.

That's what I was thinking because I'm getting 17x9 so I can run 255/40

255 on a 9" is great, don't know about it stuffing under it though.

I would go 235 on the PSS. The PS4S tire is new but it really isn't that much different then the PSS. Basically, unless you are a dedicated track junkie, you won't notice a difference.

Eventually they will release the PS4S in that size but it will take probably a year.

Here is a good review on them. Matt Farah is a huge fan of the PSS and PS4S.

im using 235/40/18 and its enough tire for me. Running on an 18"x 8" wheel (enkei m52). I believe stock wheels are 18" x 7.5"

Just realize you're adding sidewall height. Wide doesn't always mean better.
