WTF?? Car won't start!!!
WTF?? Car won't start!!!
I go out this morning (car had sat a few days) and try to start the cobalt and nothing.
battery is stone cold dead. i know for a fact i didn't leave any lights on, door cracked open
etc. i hooked up a small battery charger to it, and it started freaking out. lights flashing,
horn beeping. the only way i could get it to stop was to hit the panic button on the key fob.
has this happened to anyone else? looks like a dealership appt. in my near future. -skip.
just for the extra info it's a 2009 ss sedan with 5200 miles.

well... it doesnt matter if you leave lights on... all chevys are equipped with a sensor that turns off lights after ten minutes if door is left open or light is left on...
thats really wierd
thats really wierd
Everything is freaking out because of the low battery voltage. When you apply voltage back to the battery every module is going to fight for that power so they will just click on and off. With the horn going off that is because the security system reset and thinks you are trying to break into the vehicle. As far as what caused it not too sure, it could just be a bad battery this does happen all the time.
well i charged the battery enough to get it running. drove it to the dealer. they checked
the battery, charging system, etc. they said everything was fine. service manager told
me if you leave it set for 5-7 days without driving it, it probably won't start. several new
gm cars are doing this, gm knows about it, but of course is doing nothing about it. he told
me a new battery will not fix the problem. i told him next time his tow truck will be picking
up my car. lemon law anyone?? leaving a brand new car sit for 5 days and then it not
starting is completely unacceptable. WTF???

it sucks going out every morning and wondering "is my car going to start today?"
You will just have to buy a battery with your own money. I know it sucks, but what would you rather have: a car that doesn't start, or a car that does?
No, you take it to the ******* dealer and have them fix the damn thing. you don't be submissive and waste your hard earned money to make up for GM's lack of customer care. it's a warranty, use it, insist on it.
my grandfathers HHR had some sort of wiring short that drained the battery, they had 3 different batteries on the bitch, and it sucked because the battery was in the back, and the liftgate is electronic
