Why would you need to put a 2nd wideband 02 sensor on? The stock sensor is a WB...

sooooo which downpipe should I get?

Should I create another thread with a poll?

correct. Always install BEFORE the cat since the cat cleans out some of the mixture for emissions and a cleaner air mixture

Could a mod please let me know what I need to do to this thread to make it a sticky?

IdreamofYenko 12-31-2009 05:26 PM

Just pm a mod and ask them if they think it's worth a sticky. If they think it is, which it is, they will sticky it for you.

How do I know who a mod is? lol

IdreamofYenko 12-31-2009 05:55 PM

It will say it right under their username. BlackSS/SC06 and ReignSS are around a lot. Just shoot one of them a pm I'm sure they can see that this is sticky worthy.

LTBALTBMX 12-31-2009 11:16 PM

Does this apply to all cobalts or just the SS/TC cars? What I mean is, do all cobalts have 2 cats?

You may not be wrong. Putting the o2 before the cat or too close to the turbo is not a good idea either unless you have a heatsink made for the sensor. Too hot of an exhaust gas will fried your o2. This was from past experienced.

Ok I'll send one of them a PM, thanks!

Not sure about the other Cobalt's but this downpipe thread is specifically for the SS/TC cars however some of the information is common to all downpipes.

PS: Thanks for the info blrt that's good to know.

correct me if I'm wrong, but our cars idle high at first in order to warm up the cat's right? well what happens when there aren't any cat's?

blk06ss/sc 01-04-2010 10:17 AM

what are the chances of passing emissions without a cat, or res but with a muffler haha

Same thing happens the car is just very loud for the first 30sec to 1 minute. Then the sound calms down to a nice gurgle.

You will not pass inspection if you go catless and your state/province requires you to have a cat. If you really want catless but your state/province has laws against it you will have to switch the downpipe back to stock for every inspection.

This its sticky yet?!?

What is the policy in US and other than Qc provinces concerning inspections .. cuz here in Qc we don't get our cars inspected .. unless the police man stops you .. but can they really notice that you are catless?

rdskin21 01-06-2010 06:14 PM

Thanks guys, I didn't know if the car measured the temp or anything. So I was thinking the car would be like WTF where are the cats? lol I haven't been under the car or knew if there was a sensor or w/e for that. and this should def be stickied btw!

jpower102 01-08-2010 08:45 AM

bump

blk06ss/sc 01-08-2010 09:02 AM

for inspection, if u switch from the catless back to stock, would it throw a code anyway? or you would deff be good, cause im gonna get it ha

tom.g 01-08-2010 10:09 AM

I don't see how going back to a stock DP could throw a code, but I'll let somone else confirm that aswell.

80vetteL82 01-09-2010 07:39 PM

Where are the videos!?!?! Im trying to decide whether to go catted or catless and need some comparisons....

if you are running the stock exhaust, you will barely even notice a differnce in sound even with the catless. It's actually surprisingly quiet, and you will definitely pickup more gains with the catless
