Broken pcv breather valve

So do I just curl up in a ball and die because I broke this?

I capped off the intake side but I am pretty sure this won't help lol. I can't just put a breather filter on the braided end... what do? This sucks lol

Is this the PCV valve from the valve cover to the intake? If so you can get a new ACDelco hose and valve on RockAuto.

Yeah its the 1way valve on the intake tube. I did manage to find that hose on rockauto. looks totally different but I guess it works. Waiting for it now

To be able to drive without issues plug both ends, the line going into the head is the fresh air inlet post MAF so it will run like a vacuum leak. I wouldn't drive the car unless you have to with the fresh air plugged until you get the replacement part, you could likely get away with removing the entire line and replacing with a vacuum line without the check valve just don't get into high boost.

Yeah that is what I was told to cap both ends. I am just not driving it until I fix it.

I don't think Rock Auto has the pcv part you are looking for? Well if you can't find a stock replacement, here is one may work for you. It is listed for other cars. But work the same.

Use a thick wall rubber hose (emission/fuel etc.) connect to your intake with hose clamps/pinch clamps and the other end to your braided hose? If you can find a pcv with same OD that you can insert into the braided end like the stock one.

Spoiler

You have the check valve going the wrong direction. Flow should be from valve cover to intake.

That's the correct direction. It prevents blowby from chucking oil into the intake tube.

Exactly. Blow through the valve and you will see you it flows air from the valve cover to the intake when installed correctly.

Not on mine the arrow points to the valve cover. I'm heading home now I'll take pic of the valve.

That seems the opposite of what it should be. Air should flow from the valve cover to the intake.

Sounds like GM set it up to pull fresh air in here and then the I/M connection pulls the air out of the crankcase. Weird setup.

I know the LNF pcv is bonkers but this is 100% factory stock car and that's how mine was installed. I think this hose is the inlet part of pcv and the outlet is elsewhere.

Outlet is into the intake manifold.

Normally, I'd say GM knows better than us... but the fact that they screwed up the LSJ system so bad makes me believe otherwise.

LNF's don't seem to have nearly as many PCV related problems when compared with LSJ's though. Pulling in fresh air might be them trying to mitigate some of the downsides of direct injection though.

Yeah there was a classmate of mine at tech school had an LSJ car he got tuned and he blew his dipstick tube out lmfao
