Can someone tell me if I have g85?

hmmm,

I have a really funny feeling that the dealer lied to me about my car having LSD... can someone tell me if i do in fact have it? message here and I will pm you the VIN.

I looked in my trunk under the mat the other day while cleaning my car to perfection and I saw the list of letter/numbers ... I dont think I saw a g85... but I might have missed it. So please message here if you work for chevy or no of a quickc way to find out right now!

victoryss 08-14-2009 12:45 PM

If it's not there you don't have it:lol: Not that hard to find out

ninja44 08-14-2009 12:46 PM

The white build sticker in the trunk is the easiest way to tell. You can also take a turn and then as you exit the turn, hammer the throttle lol.

thanks for the false info... LSD doesnt mean both wheels spin. The wheel that has the most traction spins. its not an aggressive drag race LSD, its meant for handling, especially in the winter.

pop your trunk and pull up the carpet and look on the left under the sub, theres a white sticker with a bunch of letters and number if it said G85 then bingo you have it.

I did, there was a crap load of numbers there so I might have missed it. If I dont have it I wonder how I can get it?

I specifically asked for it on the car, and the dealer said "oh it has it."

It was a major selling point to the car for me. What should I do it it doesnt have it...

Bad05SS 08-14-2009 01:45 PM

lol its alphabetical starts with A them so forth i would go back to the dealer and be like WTF bitches lol

CudaJoe 08-14-2009 01:57 PM

I have it :) Im just dyslexic or something, lol. I didnt even notice the alphabetical order.

On a side note, I was thoroughly washing my car the other day in great detail when I decided to look for this build sheet in the trunk. I took the wheels off and cleaned them inside and out with wheel cleaner and Armoural brilliant wash with wax. I get to the back right wheel and I pop it off only to find in my dismay a 2 inch chunk of dull razor blade wedged into the tread of the tire (well thats as much as I could see). It was in it at and angle and definately cut deep into the tire :(. I was like oh God how big is it, did it puncture though or is it just stuck in the surface? Should I take it out or not? So I grew some balls got a pair of Dikes, grabbed it and yanked it like it was a molar and I a dentist. turns out it didnt go all the way through, but still  the tires in the back still look brand new and now there was a big hole in one that could be a potential hazard? son of a...

It didnt loose any air so I just rotated my tires and its in the front now experiencing some engine load. ***please dont blow up tire***

Yeh tell me about it. I had a penny nail in mine at about 1000miles. But then 2 weeks later I bubbled the tire, from a median, and had to replace it anyways. Best bet if you are worried take it to a tire shop, and have it plugged, if it does start leak. 10 bucks.

is there an aftermarket (race quailty) LSD avabile for the LNF?!
or should i just go see whats up at the dealership and get a stock g85? im kinda intrestred. i can install my self no issue.

I have an LSD in my 09 ss/tc sedan. On the sticker it does not say g85 it says limited slip axle.
