DEJON 3” Exhaust for Cobalt SS

We test fit pilot production parts this past Saturday and took pics (see attached) The muffler has a 5” tip tack welded on at an angle to get the final angle we wanted. This required a 2nd piece which we tack welded at 15deg. We could also do a 4” tip and offer the customer the choice. The production Magnaflow muffler is 6”dia unhampered (straight thru flow) and would have the tip as one piece and fully Tig welded. The production tip (only) would be polished and better than the one shown in these pics.
The exhaust is all Stainless steel and would include the more expensive stainless strap clamps which allow easy removal compared to “U” bolt clamps. Price would be about $499.
Tell me what you think.
Dave

that's def too rice for me. you should offer exhaust mufflers like Greddy or HKS, but I'm not into rice bent exhausts, I like them straight like the one you mention.

So we can do 4" or 5" and either canted (riced) or straight, or straight with a slant tip. Any other options? How about a poll.

just my honest opinion you need to do these things:
1) Get a picture of a straight muffler with straight 4" tip
2) get some videos of revving and a fly by
3) do a dyno test of stock exhaust and yours
4) make me an exhaust manifold for your turbo kit haha

you should offer Greddy or HKS for muffler selection with angle or straight and the option for resonator.

Looks like a subi or evo's exhaust. I like the muffler less sound but it's nice to have other options instead of the same ol same ol.

just hope they took my idea about muffler selection (HKS & Greddy) that would make them more exceptionable compare to ZZP, OTTP, and Treadstone.

IMO

The majority of the cobalt community is looking for more hidden straight through muffler with a nice seperated 4" tip out the back. Gives it that more stock look rather than a canister out the back. Now some people will prefer the canister, but i think the majority of the people would prefer a smaller oval magnaflow muffler or other brand and a nice clean looking stainless steel 4" tip

I agree completely. The sound of the exhaust is a huge factor in how I'll feel about it, but you certainly can't ignore looks. Cobalts just don't look right imo with angled exhausts. Looks much better on EVOs and STIs. Put up some sounds clips and I'm sure you'll change some minds.
