Getting a p2187code

Need some input from the lnf experts. It's a lean code but my car smells like its running rich. Car is a hhr ss auto with Hahn catless dp and a drop in kn filter. I cleaned the maf that didn't fix it.

When my car was throwing a p2187 code it was running pig rich and ended up being a vacuum leak at the pcv line on the valve cover. Could possibly be a faulty evap purge solenoid.

I got that code once, but it was because after a oil change I started the car up without the oil cap.

Is there any possible way the downpipe could cause this code.

If it's leaking at the o2 housing flange then yes. It would allow air to enter the system at the upstream o2, it would then see a false lean condition and try to correct it with more fuel, causing you to be running too rich. That's a simple explanation.
