GM Stage kit

I was wondering something, I couldn't find anywhere. If I have a GM Stage kit (MAP sensors) and no tune, would it throw codes (P0101, P0106) at me and also make my boost gauge not work? Also I would be driving and my car just loses all power (not limp mode) to the point where I need to turn the car off for a couple seconds and turn it back on then it works fine again. Thanks in advance!!!

You should not be running GMS1 without a tune. Yes you will likely get those codes.

Stop going into boost or you could damage the car.

Cliffs notes: If you replace the MAP sensors yourself then you can drive your car without going into boost to get a tune. That's it.

Don't the kits come with instructions stating what to do after the install?

Your boost gauge should still work, the readings will be off. The p0101 is more than likely a boost leak. You have a turbo car so build a boost leak tester and find out where the air is going.

I don't recall what the p0106 is for.

Make sure the connectors for the MAP are all the way plugged in. P0106 and no boost reading are the same sensor. Maybe unplug and make sure the pins are all straight and none got bent over. Then make sure they snap/click when pushed in place.

You need to go to the Dealer to get your PCM flashed so while they have it plugged in they should see what's going on.

I bought the car with most of the stuff installed, the stage kit was on of the items. I was having problems with the car shortly after buying it. took it to about 3 places and they all said the car was fine, when it wasn't running good at all. I ended up getting a new downpipe and intercooler and that fixed those problems (restricted airflow or something). then I started getting the problems I listed above. I know my car doesn't have a *always on* tune, the dealership told me it was factory PCM. I did read that the trifecta tune is hidden due to you having to turn it on. I am testing this atm by putting my car into performance mode right when it starts. is there any way I can tell besides that? better question, am I even *turning* the tune *on*? lol. not sure how I turn it on using cruise control, and I'm assuming I just put it on performance mode for that option?

Usually the trifecta tune was switched using the cruise control switch (so I've heard). The dealership should be able to tell you if you have an aftermarket tune on the PCM. I'm not aware of aftermarket PCM's for the LNF, usually the tune is achieved by changing the software on the PCM rather than buying a new PCM. Some "canned" tunes are done by switching PCM's but the "new" PCM is a stock PCM that's been modified.
