Question Gut the muffler?

How hard would it be to gut my muffler to make the car louder. I don't want a full exhaust and i don't want to put a straight pipe there nomatter how much easier it would be. I want the car to look stock. so is it gonna be practically impossible without cracking it open or can it be done like gutting the cats?

I would say to maybe just cut the top of it off and put a straight pipe in it. It would be easier to just cut the muffler off and weld on a flange to bolt or unbolt it whenever you wan.t

While I'm NOT recommending the "washer mod" I've heard about it being done. Basically, you unbolt the connector at the back of the downpipe and the front of the catback, remove the gasket, and insert a couple of washers to space it out a little. Instant exhaust leak guaranteed to be louder.

Our mufflers are straight through already, IDK if it will be any louder or not.

So you did a muffler delete....

Those two words could've saved you a lot of typing.
