hahn super 20g turbo?
according to the dyno 336 lol. hot air intake ftw! got my zzp 3.5" "big turbo" intake in yesterday. gotta get a bigger 90* coupler though. the coupler it came with is a 3" to 3.5" 90* elbow coupler. need a 4" to 3.5" 90* coupler so it will fit onto the turbo. put that on then the gms1 sensors on. get a bit more timing and maybe 2 or 3 psi more from james with a bit more boost ramp. next month get 3 paychecks plus quarterly bonus so gonna get clutch. contemplating going ahead and buying the new injectors and upgraded fuel cam just to get those goodies started. then hopefully just need pistons. valve springs. and fuel pump. then corn juice ftw.
hot air. poor fans. hot ambient temps. I know the dyno isn't bad because when I was on stock turbo it was ~40* out and I put down 317/359 which are very expectable numbers on a fully bolted k04. plus I dynod my gms2 lsj there and put down 246 then full bolt ons with e85 lsj I put down 287whp. so it seems pretty spot on when it comes to numbers. and I've seen probably 20 other cobalts dyno on this dyno with pretty spot on numbers as well. aside from one other buddy here that made 288 on his lnf with same mods as I had on the k04 and almost identical tunes. but he had an ebay ic and he said his iats were well into the hundreds. which was my case with my air filter being directly on the intake and it being 80*+ out during the pulls. every pull I lost on average 7 horsepower. going from 336 to 329 to 322 then I did a 4th pull and hit 315whp. so IMO heat was definitely the factor. that's why i'm hoping this 3.5" short ram from zzp will help keep the air a bit cooler going into the intercooler so it has to do less work.

I knew the 20g has good power potential, especially from my dealings with the dsm world, but I was just never a real big fan of it. Long and short of it, for the money, I would say it's probably one of the best if not the best bang for your buck turbo available. I came into tuning this particular car (LNF HHR) with sort of sour taste for the 20g, and came out of it with a new respect for it. Is it "old tech"? Sure. Does it spool a little later? Sure. Is it ridiculous? Not at all. I actually ramp the boost in my efr (and all the zfr strapped lnf's I have tuned) to basically the exact same rpm as where a 20g would hit full boost anyways (4200rpm), so it's really not a big deal. Everyone gets so hung up on wanting full spool by 3,000rpm, but they never really consider the consequences of such a fast spool particularly when matched with a larger than stock turbo. Plus, who the hell is racing at anything below 4000rpms anyways?
I'm finally boosting 24 psi. Problem was boost solenoid I'm guessing. I'm still getting Compressor surge, or WG flutter I'm hoping. I got a 1.5 bar spring and I need to change it out. I've been lazy the past 2 days cause of my Bday. I'm still recovering LOL.
Brooo this video comes to mind when you have a part and you're not using it lol.
I agree with this 1000% I had a boost ramp with my ZFR for 4500 rpm I think, and it was still amazing. You have to remember when you're spooling you're still making power, just not full power. I would never want to have full boost at 3k rpm with a turbo than can produce enough torque to blow the tranny. **** that...
There isn't really a whole lot to review, it's just an opinion.. lol

MAF relocate isn't always the best solution. Best to keep the MAF as close to stock position as possible IMO. With this intake the MAF may be taking in too much air so it may force me to use the relocate
Mine is flutter at 4.5 but stays till 5.5. then after that it's smooth. idk weird ****.
nice review, and good comments. I think Hahn will be happy for them too, because we have a real tuner do a review on it without scewed issues...lol
I personally like the revised BNR, but the price of the Hahn s20g is awesome, especially when its on sale for 20% of the $1199 price = $960.00!!!
I hear an mbc is best to use with those turbos though to keep it from flutter and keep it consistant..

BTW, cool thing about 20g or BNR is that you can do surgery with them. You can change the wheels to a bigger turbo on both. Either a 25g like mine or a BNR 60-1 turbo.
